Blade Play in Native?

I have some slight horizontal blade play in my Native. Is that normal? There's also some vertical play but that's probably because of the lockback.

just don't hammer it for a fix :D or be gentle with it if you do, cause you might make it too stiff
if the knife can be used without problems, dont worry about it
the natives, (not the new one with screws) , due to the pivot pin, may develop some blade play, depending on the use/abuse...
do you put a lot of pressure to feel that slight blade play ?
if so, i wouldnt worry about it
if in doubt, you can always send it to spyderco for a quick fix

I've had a few with some side to side play. After reading a post on these forums I was able to tighten them up enough to my satisfaction. The procedure was to place a razorblade between the blade and handle and lightly tap the pivot pin until it tightens up. Worked for me. But keep in mind that because of the pin construction there will be "some" blade play. That's just the nature of knives made this way. I have yet in over XX years had a blade fail on a folder for too much blade play (or for any other reason for that matter).

If i put moderate pressure on it there's play, so I guess it's nothing to worry about. As long as I didn't get 3 responses saying "there should be zero play no matter what"

What about bladeplay on my Ladybug III? For such a small knife I expected some but it's a bit too much, how do I fix that?

Get a desk mounted vice and pinch it pretty tight. That should fix it.
