Blade Play

Hey guys, quick question. Does anyone have a knife that they've had for a while that has never needed to have the pivot adjusted? I'm not a fan of blade play, and was wondering because I am of course, in the market for a new toy. I have a CS Recon 1 and a PM2, both great knives, but I'm looking for something more high quality. I have an idea of what I want, but it's cool to hear the opinions of others. Thanks

I don't see why it's an issue. Many knives will be fine for months or even a year and then may need a slight tightening. So what? That's not a bad thing.

I can say though that my pm2 didn't need any adjustments, I actually decided to loosen it myself after 6 months.

Looks like you're looking for something with a "pivot bushing" (or similar set up that allows for tightening the pivot down all the way, like the PM2). Besides Spyderco's stepped pivot, the next jump that I know of would be a Chris Reeve Sebenza 21. I have a ZT 0801 that never needs loctite, but I've had other ZT's wih the exact same pivot that did so it's kind of luck of the draw with those.

My ZT 0350 has never needed to be tightened and has absolutely zero play. I've had it for about 4 years now...

Sebenza.

If you put a touch of blue Loctite on the pivot you wont need to adjust it until you want to.

My last 5 years of Benchmade, Spyderco, Reeves, william henry, case, boker, queen, & victoeronix all have no blade play and still don't.
