Blade Polishing?

I've been trying a lot of ways to get a good mirror polish on the blade of my Spyderco Tenacious. I have tried polishing with a rag with WD-40, and it didn't do much. So I tried to sand it down with 800 grit sand paper, all this did was scuff it up now. So I'm at a loss. Would a leather strop do anything? I have one that is supposed to be here this Thursday. What do I need to do to remove the scuffs, and polish the blade (THE ENTIRE BLADE, NOT JUST THE EDGE)?

I'm very new to this, so I could sure use some help!!

Pick up some 3M polishing sheets. The 4000, 6000 and 8000 grit pieces should put a perfect mirror polish on just about anything, with a little work.

This was done using a Dremel tool and felt bob/wheel, plus Mother's Mag wheel polish (from the car parts store). I stopped before it got a mirror polish because I liked the way it looked, but I bet it would get you to a mirror look or at least close. This only took a few minutes.

I will have to look for the 3M polishing sheets. That is a good suggestion as I have never seen them.

For a nice mirror polish on the cheap, grab a 4 sided buffing stick from your local grocery store in the nail polish aisle. I was able to put a mirror sheen on my tenacious with one in no time.
*Note: I had to sit through my girlfriend 'showing' me how to use it, AFTER I had already polished the blade, because she wanted me to see what they're made for*

Did you use green compound on the felt buffing tip with your dremel and then follow up with hand applied Mother's Mag polish? I have done that but think yours looks better.
