For 1095 you need a very fast oil,Parks 50 or equivalent. It will also work for 1084. If you cannot get Parks 50,Canola is the next best option.

1084 and 1095 require fast quenching oils to get maximum hardness. Some people here swear by Parks #50.
 
there are lots of good oils out there besides parks. I like and prefer Houghton G. Texaco Tuff is good as well.
