Drop points, recurves, and clip points are also very nice.

I prefer drop/spearpoints, and clippoints. and I also like false edges along the top edge.

Sheepsfoot. Great for carving.

drop point or clip point for general utility
warnclif or sheepsfoot for carving.

Recurve. Benefits of a hawkbill and a drop point in one, with a sturdy tip (usually).

But if I had to sharpen it on a daily basis, I'd probably go nuts and stick with drop points, a la Spyderco without a straight section (uniform curve).

Those are in order of cutting performance IMHO, for my needs.
