What blade shapes/styles have you found over time that you initially did not care for. But when you got one, over time you learn to like/love it?

I have a preference for drop points. My Kershaw, CRKT and Native III as well as a number of other knives I have around the house are all drop point blades. Recently though, I picked up a Benchmade 555HG mini-grip with a modified sheepsfoot blade. The more I play with it and use it, the more I like it for general EDC. It will never replace the Native that is always tucked in the right pocket, but it will definitely stay nearby.

My Buck Kalinga has a huge upswept/skinner blade. Great slicer too.

I like drop points, straight-spines, spear points, and wharncliffes. :)

My benchmade 555hg grip...

That sheepsfoot blade I thought was pure ugly....turned out I really came to like it....started to use it @ work (electrician) and it works excellent to ream out pvc conduits and strip bigger electrical wires...

Hawksbill. Never had one before I got a Byrd CrossBill fully serrated and a SubClaw. A lot more useful than I thought, great slicers.

Sheepsfoot and spear point. They're just awesome.

On bowies a straight spine is a must, though.

Whatever the blade shape is called thats on the Spyderco Captain and DDR Gunhammers...

I use to hate the way spyderco folders looked.
The basic blade shape they use.
But I have now grown very fond of it.

Hawkbill and/or pruning style blades. I didn't get it until I got one (ok, three, no make that four).

I'm a big droppoint fan. I have warmed up to wharnscliff/sheepsfoot blades. One blade shape I have no use for is tanto...never seen the use/need for a tanto. Tanto blades look cool, but don't have any appeal to me.

Wharnie for me. I absolutely fell in love with Spyderco's Cento4 at a local dealer. Told him I'd snag it the next week...it was gone when I returned.
