Blade Shapes that start to grow on you.

I normally like flat ground drop-point or leaf-shaped blades almost exclusively, but recently I bought a Tanto Blur and it's starting to grow on me. Now if I can just get past how ridiculously mall-ninja it looks...

I've also been eyeing a recurve blade for the first time in ages - I normally stay well away from recurve blades, regardless of other design features, etc.

Wharnecliffe blades bugged me (I've always loved clip, drop, and spear points) until I saw and used a Kershaw Random Task.

Drop and spear points for me now. They offer me more versatility for my uses. Past purchases were bowie and clip points.

Easier to say what I don't care for lol....not a clip point fan, nor trailing, tanto, or boot knife style symetrical double edged knives. Pretty much anything else and I'm game.

FFG leaf shaped Sypderco blade is prob my overall favorite, though plenty of customs out there with excellent blade ergonomics.

Just by looking at pictures, I thought Emerson's Persian was ugly. I don't understand why because I now think of it as the best looking production knives out there.

Modified Wharncliff: I have one on my Benchmade 921 Switchback. Very thin and very pointy! It is a premium slicer and gets in those ‘hard to reach places’.

Spanto: Well, only one maker uses this design. I was afraid I might not like it. It is proving to be very adept in every task I have asked of it. With its tip strength, it’s really in a class of its own. In a hard use capacity, it is easily my favorite blade shape now.
Fehrmans Last Chance blade: Another ‘Spanto’ type blade shape. It’s great.
Hmm, my favorite fixed and folder, both use a similar blade shape.
‘Bout time somebody figured this out.;)

the Sheepsfoot blade style, but after buying one of each I have found the sheepsfoot blade is pretty handy when I go on expeditions like white water rafting or canoeing/kayaking..

Leaf shaped blade. When I got Tenacious I found out how good it was. Then I got Caly3 and loved even more leaf shaped blade.

Same for Wharncliffe / Sheepshoof.

I like SOG's swedge shaped clip point blades like on my Tomcat 3.0. I am finding it very useful.

I am TOTALLY addicted to shape(blade and handle too) of crawford kasper knife.
Crkt version so far, but im looking for a custom.
For me - this knife is perfect.

The only Tanto blades that I like are the ones on some Strider SNG models. Excluding that, I like drop points.

The "sharpfinger", good for all kinds of stuff.

A beat up wharncliff sure gets a lot of use around the house too.....

I like the sheeps foot and the wharncliffe. The straight edge's are a dream to sharpen.

The wharncliffe doesn't have a very strong tip, but for light duty EDC they are great cutters. This one has a hollow grind making it like a laser beam.

The sheeps foot is not the sharpest knife I have owned but is a real worker. The tip is thick at the end for strength, and the blade is thick at the spine. It is a flat ground blade but pretty thick at the edge.
