Blade shapes!!

I love the shape of my Paramilitaries. I guess it's a drop point?

I am a big fan of the wharncliffe blade as well as the drop point.

Here is my current EDC.

I don't like clip points that much. Not really sure why, I just never did prefer them. Don't really have any problem with them though.

I mostly like blades without a belly like sheepsfoots, Wharncliffe's and speys. I also like tanto because the angle makes it almost like having two blades.

My favs. are the small Sebenza blade shape, and the smaller and more pointy of the blades on 2-bladed SAK's. I find that I need to stab stuff with a needle sharp, small blade, many times, whether to start a cut, or as the entire operation.

I don't like digging for splinters with a rounded knife.

+1 on the SAK little blade, Kind of a modified wharncliffe almost? It might have a little too much belly for that classification? I know it's mostly straight, with only a little upsweep at the end. I found it to be good on detail work whittling my little ball in a cage.

edit: whoops was thinking of the little blade on my Case Swayback Jack, that one's like a modified wharnie. The little SAK blade is more like a spear.

Pretty sure its a leaf shape with a swedge. Spear point looks more like the kershaw skyline.

I've always thought of the Native as spear point. Not sure, I mean most spear point shapes could also technically be called drop points, right? I don't think there's an exact science to some of the classifications.

It just seems the Native has a point in the centerline of the blade, and is symmetrical on the spine and edge... which is how I always thought of them.

I'm surprised (and pleased) to see so many wharncliffe fans. I was thinking about starting a thread asking why they weren't more popular since they are such a useful profile.
