Is that video from Blade? I think I recognize a few people.

man, it's been forever since I've seen a Rathergood video!
thanks!

You suck. Luckily there's no one in the area. Some people surf at work ya know. ;)

tweeners: some thoughts...

i finally got to handle the tweeners. of the three: "mini campanion" (drop point), (kinda mini BK7/9) clip point, and the mini-magnum camp... MMC is by far my favorite... it's unfortunate that the clip point will sell a lot. maybe. the drop point should do quite well, however, the MMC ... WHAT A KNIFE.

let me tell you why :) plus some other information...

so, i also got to finally see the new KaBar Mark I - this is a sleeper knife so far and some will overlook it... but DO NOT... it's almost a tweener in comparing blade profiles, size, thickness... it's a bushcrafter to be sure (one of the originals too)... it's kinda close to the MMC but without as much belly - surprised me. that's going to be a great knife... plane edge only please :) sheath is pretty sweet too - i'm going to have to study that more in better light...

but amusing: i have a Helle Safari and Temegami now. both of these knifes are very similar to each other (and the Eggen iirc), but the Temegami has more fuller. know what? see Mark I but ALSO see MMC. both KaBars are a touch thicker, and the lengths of the usable edge are roughly the same, and well, yah. the Temegami is also best price i've seen $148 in hand... the Safari is half that and the M1 is well, under $50. nuff said on that one.

pictures uploading slowly :>

the tweeners are going to blow you guys away

we had to tell a LOT of show folx that they were prototypes and were not for sale, no, not even for $800 :)

I picked up a Ka-Bar Heavy Bowie and am very impressed by that knife. Might be one of the best deals on a big boy out there.

Great report. Ethan, if I follow a recipe in your other book, would that make me "Beckerfed?" :D

zombie knives: some thoughts on brains :>

so, four models of zombie big knives, the folder, stand alone blade, monkey patches, and tshirts were at Blade Show 2011...

the monkey patches FLEW out the booth. bang, gone. got mine :) they're velcro backed MilSpec Monkey goodness. you know you want some.

the tshirts are the same logo as the patches, and they trickled at first, and then explode, gone...

the folders? sold amazingly well. show price was very good, and people liked the solid lockup, steel liners, and generally solid feel. yeah, some folx are concerned with country of manufacture. it's a good knife though, excellent build quality.

the big knifes?

iirc, the Tanto sold out first. that's a really heavy knife - it's thicker than you'd think. very aggressive serrations. there's a very happy 14-16 yo girl out there who has one. watch out world :)

the chopper (old Case pattern) is the one i bought for myself. great looking blade, lively, and solid, will test it soon.

of the other two, the sword, and "sticker", the sword sold out next, leaving a few stickers, and i think even AFTER the extra overnite shipment of zombie blades from Olean, they only sent one back.

those handles are BRIGHT. in dim light they almost glow. dude. probably the best selling point. you cannot lose these knives in the woods. i know if Ethan professes love for all things zombie, KaBar might think about it ;) hee hee hee.

so nutshell? slam dunk at the show for this product. boo yah.

Yeah, I get Beckerfed at least once a week. :DMoose

yeah yeah yeah, but you live in a temperate rain forest about to become a desert the next good erosion storm :)

oh, and amusingly, Fatburger is a good method to feed a Becker :)

It was good to have both Moose and Bladite in the booth working on our behalf. Good Job Guys! Next year we want to get the Guyon Biscuitman involved also. Good to see some BeckerHeads...need to see more coming to Blade.
Excellent show this year. Crowds and sales seemed way up for everyone.
BTW; I held off on the farting.
