Whoa, Kool photos!!!

I will have to go to this show next time just to gain more knowledge about Buck Knives.

Being a Buck Knife Collector takes a lot more effort than being a knife accummulator.

Rich and 300, thanks for sharing all the pics... It's almost like I was there... Thanks again... ITE ...

Lets pause here just one moment....for anyone thinking they might have fun showing their knives and making a display...take note that the award winning displays are more than just some knives. There are pictures, catalog pages, literature, blueprints, etc. So as you go about your knife searching, think about the knives you like and might display and grab on to any 'paper' that will help explain your display and make it well, like the ones you see in museums.

Taking a display to a show is a social event, a way to show your interest to others who appreciate your efforts. Even a 3 foot wide display of 20 knives can draw lookers. If there is a good sized knife show in your area, find the other Buck poeple nearby, contact BCCI for advice and spend a day talking and showing your Bucks. Its a whole lot better than mowing the yard.

Ron Hood, talking about the development of the Buck Hoodlum. Interesting guy.

And last but not least, Russ Donoghue, aka Sheriff Rusty of Bucktown. Who got that special name when he was awarded a hand made Buck factory (JH) badge as Sheriff. His western persona and display gave him the title.
Here he is being given the 2011 Paul Lentz award for outstanding service to the club. Russ works at being a good club member and friend to all. He also serves as Youth newsletter editor and on the BCCI board. He travels to several knife shows per year, representing BCCI with good image. Congrats Sheriff.

Thats my photos folks, like me if you live a long ways away from Atlanta, it takes a special effort to go there and be a part of the biggest knife show on earth. But there are some shows in VA, in KY and TN and out on the west coast at CA and OR. Try to make one and hang out with the other Buck Nuts for a spell.

300, so how much is one of these wine barrel head with BCCI logo. (Bill said anyone interested in something like this to contact him.) Do you have his e-mail address? Thanks

Great pictures everyone!! I got to see all those displays in person!!

I was fortunate enough to be passing through Atlanta Saturday on my way to a backpacking trip with my grandson and just happened to stop by the Blade Show. (coincidence?)

I found a parking spot and was walking in the building early Saturday morning when I saw a guy with a Buck insignia on his shirt walking out to a van. I went back and asked if he was with Buck. It was John Foresman. Talk about luck!!

I told him I was there for the day and planned on signing up for a life membership with BCCI. He said he could help. :-)

I did sign up for a life membership (thank you John, Jack and John's Mom). I am #2245!!

I walked the whole building admiring all the knives. There were thousands of very nice knives, but I found myself drawn back to the Buck displays. They were by far my favorites!!

I attended the BCCI meeting at noon. I didn't know what the 50/50 raffle was for, but I bought six tickets anyway. I was busy looking around and talking to another member who was raised in the same town I was raised in down in Florida when I heard them calling out a number for the raffle tickets. No one was answering so I got busy digging in my bag looking for the tickets. I found them and it was my number!!

Now that is a great way for all you BCCIer's to welcome a new member!! :-)

It was an excellent meeting, got to see and meet lots of people.

I had the opportunity to talk to Leroy Remer for quite a while and told him how much I admired the knife he built that ItsTooEarly posted here a while back....the 110 Damascus with bullet proof glass. I told him I had two of those bulletproof knives that he had made, but with regular 110 blades. Leroy said he would be glad to fix one of them up for me when I got ready.

I am going to have to get that done because that was one gorgeous knife with the Damascus blade!

Got to talk to Ron Hood for a while and briefly met Joe Houser. Put some faces to the names here on the forums too.

I hated to leave, but I needed to get my grandson on the Appalachian Trail in NC by Sunday morning.

It was an excellent week with the show and the hiking.

Thank you Stumps for this positive report. Glad you had such a good time and welcome. Really, the members here are just that way. (I think you know)--DM

8 displays of 500 series of knives! That sounds like there are a lot of Duke knives that most people do not know about. It must be a trully fasinating display. The pictures are fantastic guys thank you for taking the time to post them. HL

Yeah, there were a lot of different 500's. I looked at them in detail and one display had mostly 500's with handles from Santa Fe Stoneworks. Still, there were a ton of limited editions, it took a lot of hard work & money to get that collection. I talked to the owner and it turns out, I won the bid for a 500 at the Buck meeting. (If your interested in a knife at the meeting, you put in your ticket and they will draw the winner.) He said he didn't have one like mine, hard to belive, but I told him he could buy mine at my cost, he said no, but since he lives about 10 miles from me, I gave him my phone number and said he could buy my 500, if he decides to do so. No call yet.
