Blade Show 2015! A Wonderful Experience!

Just finished up a weekend in Atlanta at the Blade Show 2015, and I can't begin to tell you what a great time we all had. Everyone (meaning all the BCCI and Buck folks) was welcoming, helpful, and just down right friendly. In fact, friendly seems a very inadequate word for the experience. And I can tell you I have never meet more down to earth and genuine people than the Buck family. They are class acts all the way. The only thing that could have made it better is if Mr. Chuck Buck had been there too. And maybe Mark (Stumps). :D I also had a chance to talk extensively with David Yellowhorse, Leroy Remer, and Heath Stone and gain some insight into the most talented artists around. A huge thank you goes out to John, Craig, Larry, Joe Houser, the Buck family, and all the BCCI members I met and got a chance to know, for making this a very enjoyable and memorable trip. We all indeed have a special club.

C.J. told me this was the first knife him, Josh, and his mom had ever signed together. I'm honored.

Not sure if he will post any on here or wait for the next newsletter, but I can't wait to see the pics Craig took.

Yes thank you , very cool pictures of the event .

So I'll take it that we will see some of your purchases very soon . :)

I hope Craig VoVillia and his girlfriend Kim took some good pictures too... :thumbup:
I hope you had a chance to meet Craig and Kim... :)

Thanks MW for bring a bit of the knife show to us who could not make it. Top notch.:thumbup:

Mwputnam thanks a lot for the cool pictures. I am far from Atlanta, but thanks to your photos I myself visited the blade shows and saw stands with Buck knives an met with great people.:thumbup::thumbup: :)

Gosh, I didn't realize I was that ugly....ha For west coast folks the CA and Oregon shows are being supported by the BCCI board.
Some Buck high-ups have made the commitment to attend the Oregon show next year. We just have no show other than a few small ones in the middle of the country. Maybe something will eventually be created that will make it worth the effort for several of use to come and display our knives.

Thanks Putnam for these photos of the Blade Show. This allows us hoi polloi a glimpse of the largest knife show in our nation. DM

Thanks for the pics and effort. Really awesome pics, great for us non attendees to realize the world of Buck is immense !!! Hope more pics show on the site (hint hint ).

Here are a few more pics. I didn't actually take as many as I would have liked because like Craig Vovillia said over on the SPS, there was just too much going on. Serious sensory overload! I can tell you this though, even the non-Buck people there were as pleasant and courteous as anyone could be. It's a top notch affair.

Here a couple move collection pics:

C.J. speaking at the meeting. He really got choked up talking about his dad. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place, and Mrs. Lori speaking, she is a true lady my friends:

I apologize for some of the poor photos. I'm just not very handy with a camera regardless of which side of it I'm on.

Thanks Michael for making me so jealous that I wasn't able be there this year. :)

You did way better at taking photos there that look good than I ever have!!

That was a great idea getting Lori, CJ and Josh to all sign the same knives.
I have one signed by Chuck, CJ and Josh that I'll have as long as I'm still kickin'.

Excellent report!!

Wow, thanks for the pictures, awesome. I couldn't be there, and the thread is great.

Thank you Michael for the awesome photo's and the run down on the show. I wish I could go, but, it's just to far and would just cost to much. Maybe I can make one of the west coats events next year. Did you get the names of the folks who's collections you photographed? I ask because I see what I call my grail knife, I missed out on years ago and I see it in one of your photo's!!!! That's way cool and I may just be able to get a photo of it, it's the 905 crown stag Bowie in one of the displays:thumbup:

JB - That 905 appears to have some sort of etching on the blade as well. I would like to know what the etching is of. I have a crown stag 905 but I don't think I have ever seen one with any type of etching.

Lots of great pictures and great knives. Thanks for posting everyone.

Awesome pictures! It was my first show and definitely not my last! Thanks for remembering to take some pictures! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Hi James,
Read what I wrote in post #12, then look at the etch photo in post #14. That is a one off 905, most likely a Buck years of service knife.
