Blade Show 2015! A Wonderful Experience!

BLADE SHOW PHOTOS - So it begins

MJP gave you some good photos, I am not sure I can do better but here goes a start. I took 219 photos so this will go awhile. 300

The Big Winners - Buck Collectors Club sweeps collection trophies. Dale Eichberg, Larry Oden (Overall Winner), Jim Holbrook and the judges gave someone a special lifetime memory, Owen Dady for his display of whittling knives and projects. I wish I had the camera ready when Owens name was announced. You would have thought he had just jammed the bucket to win the NBA finals......

CJ Buck spending time in the BCCI area. Guy getting him to sign green Tshirt with sharpie.

Tim Lindsey's granddaughter Sarah's pink themed knife display

A visit by Wild Bill Cody, Tim and Sharon Lindsey and granddaughter

Here is the Trophy Winners Whittling display

This year we were very youth oriented. More youth displays and activities to follow. Keep checking at least twice a day........300

Dan Rickman's Bowie knife display. His dad on the right.

Frank Meek's stag knife display.

Pat Donovan's display

Tim Lindsey's Vern Taylor tribute display

I can only do ten per thread, here's six more.

Jim Holbrook's 500's, well actually only about half of them. He could do a whole row himself.

Tim Lindsey's new (vintage) cactus steak knife set.

Jim Ridlen's tribute to 10th Ranger Div knives.

Here you go, wouldn't you want to come and hang out with David Yellowhorse and Wild Bill Cody shootin' the breeze.

Michael Devlin's turning Painted Pony display

Brian Hugh's Buck Tactical knife display. I made him step away from David Yellowhorse, Joe Houser and Jerry Quinn's discussion for photo.

More to come later this evening. Hey, I haven't even unloaded "HER" car yet.....hear what I am sayin' 300

Craig, I knew you'd be along sooner or later with your shots. I can't wait to see what's to come!

Gene Merritt and his David Yellowhorse collection

Dave Meyer and one end of his 110 display. Dave I forgot what you said about these particular ones.

Not many young beginning collectors of other knives get their displays checked out by the company president.

Dale Eichberg, Jerry Quinn , Ken Merritt and Joe Houser discuss old hand made Buck straight knives

Norm Sevensma and his special 110s and Selector display

Shot of the Saturday Crowd. It seemed crowded to me the whole weekend, especially Friday and Sat. Dee Schindewolf guarding the sales table. Brent and Dee did not bring a display because of Brent's injured shoulder.

Larry Odens Top Prize winning display

Ed Coopers 110 display and tribute to Chuck Buck

Nickolas Waldon's nice 110 and 113 display. He provided a good example to other young collectors

Dave Robinson and his special 110 collection. Dave provides leadership to several of the young collectors

Thank you very much 300 for bringing the show to myself and the others that could not make it.

Now we just need to figure out how to get you to buy some knives for us while at the show.

I came back with only one knife and it wasn't a 300, so enough is said....I am taking photos and the other guys are bird dogging the knives. ...boy its getting hard to walk on those concrete floors all day..... 300

Connor Danskin, one of our most experienced youth members, and he got to fish in CJ's trout pond when we were in Idaho. He also was showing a prototype 100 series he managed to talk someone out of.

Alden Danskin's with some Kalinga's

I never could get people away from Joe Housers display to take his picture with it, always someone is there. Once in a while he would sneak off to the Buck factory booth to rest....

Bucktown Sheriff Russ Donoghue chose to fly light and not bring his 700 display. He enjoyed working with the youth and taking notes during club meeting. Well, more of the first than the last truthfully. Marge helped man the club table.

Here is Dale Eichberg's unique and prize winning display packed full of old Buck knives, many made in the old 'Shed' days

Connor Danskin is entertaining the 'spit and whittle' crowd behind the club table. To the right is Pat Donoghue and Alan Horner. Actually, I was trying for a photo of the small case on the right where John Foresman was displaying his miniature Buck customs.

J.D. Goode's Texas themed collection, Eddy Birdwell's grandson.

Here is photo of the BCCI youth at work interviewing Sheriff Rusty Donoghue about what makes a good display. Brent Schindewolf organized them to do this and with a successful form signed off they were in a drawing for prizes.

Here again, the youth group are at it interviewing Gene Merritt on his collection, Jimmy Holbrook is backing him up. Brent pulled out his teachers/ principals ability and really got the BCCI youth present involved with the show and with the people. Kudos go to Brent.

On Saturday a reunion group from the 10 th Ranger Div visited Jim Ridlen and the Buck Club display. We were happy to have a group of service men to entertain.

Thanks Jim for calling in the troops from the 10th Ranger Division. What an honor to be among their company.

Thanks 300 and everyone for the BS images! It's already been a dozen years since the only one I was able to attend!

David,
We have the same officers but Tim Lindsey was elected to fill the opening on the board of directors. He will be a great asset and has already been assigned to develop a BCCI social media outreach, something that is foreign to both John and me. Yes, I know we are old and behind the times but we like it that way!
Also, Craig (300Bucks) works his tail off taking pictures throughout the show. What a servant's heart.

I am with that guy, he can't believe someone is actually looking at my display. Maybe she was just checking her hair in the reflection.Ha

Next up the annual BCCI club meeting photos.

John Foresman, Club President, calls the meeting to order.

Maralee Houser (Buck)
Sings a medley of religious songs as tribute to her father.

Lori Buck gives a touching talk about the generous and kind memorials for Chuck.

CJ follows in the footsteps of his father and gives an emotional state of Buck Knives report. The emotions touched everyone in the room.

Lori Buck handed out the prizes for our youth contest that Brent Schindewolf organized.
Owen Dady

Alden Danskin won a custom 110

Connor Danskin with Brent in the background.

Sarah Lindsey

Then the club knife awards were given by the entire Buck clan. A big hand was given for Dan Rickman when he got his award.

Connor Danskin rousted the crowd when he received his award.

Owen Dady, First timers award

Another first timer, Nickolas Waldon

Sarah Lindsey, first time displaying award

Well let's keep going.......don't mess around fooling around with your thread too long or BF will close down on you and you will lose everything.....I know it has happened to me....300

J.D. Goode, Eddy Birdwell's grandson.

Alden Danskin, should I photoshop him in a smile.....

All of the first time displayers. Ed Cooper and Jim Ridlens on the end.

These two guys won something, I told them to act happy.......Larry Oden and Jim Holbrook.

A big Thanks goes out to the entire Buck family for making this a fun filled and family oriented award ceremony. Some adults got awards also but you don't need to see their pictures, they are just "another year older and deeper in debit".....300

After the awards. Gene Merritt and David Yellowhorse came up with a prototype for a new Yellowhorse club knife. If you weren't there your will just have to stay tuned for a eventual photo.

BCCI travel agent Marge Donoghue came up at the end and gave a brief status of the tour and then handed out packets to those who were going and were there. There is still room if the mood strikes you.

Before the knife buying started, Pat Donovan was awarded the Paul Lentz award for outstanding service to BCCI. Pat has long been a board member and serves currently as treasurer.

The big boys got their prizes also but for this forum I skipped them. The rest of the meeting crowd and in the back the knife sales tables waiting for the shark feeding event. I may come back back in a day or two an have photos of the club prize winners.
