Blade Show 2023

JParanee JParanee it was nice running into you, Matt and David this year. We'll have to talk bikes soon!

I had a blast seeing everyone, it was a light show quantity wise...but the quality of my two scores is out of this world!🤯

Hey Lorien and others....

I SAW a few people, but barely. Sadly. The great social gathering at BLADE is the hardest *working* four days of my year.

42 hours in 3.5 days. I was in my studio at 6am three days in a row and left after seven all but Sunday.

What this means is GOOD. I captured a TON of amazing knives and served our community in my best capacity.

I DO appreciate and was glad to see those in passing and I may have encountered at my studio.

Lorien, great to actually shake your hand. Good stuff!

I'm swimming in edits as I type. It's a FIRST CLASS problem I have. :)

Coop, after all these years I still can't quite believe that this was the first time we actually met in person. Feels like I've known you forever!
Thank you for all you do!

Ever since my absence from blade show for almost the last decade i've been dying to go back. Hopefully I can make it happen again in the next few years. I hear things have REALLY changed though.

Lorien, you really dove face first into the knife thing and have come a long way. I didn't know you were doing it full time now, big congrats. Your designs are looking sharp!

Both you and Coop do work that you LOVE and its enviable to me! One day..

Coop you have served this community like no other. Looking forward to your images!

Joe, good stuff! Diskin is a wizard. Glad to see you're still having fun too!

thanks Jon. The path to full time knife maker hasn't been easy, physically or mentally. It may be the hardest thing I've ever done, but the passion for all of it is what keeps me going. So, I always think on the phrase; "you'll never work a day in your life, if you're doing what you love". Making knives in my garage is not the best way to make a lot of money, but there's trade offs with everything. Creating objects from my imagination, which people will cherish and making friends, while working from my home where I can be close to my family every day is really an ideal scenario for me. As long as I break even at the end of each year, I'm golden.

I'm pretty sure I'll go to Blade next year.

That sounds like a big slice of heaven my man!!!! May you enjoy success on this road in between all the speed bumps!!!!👍👍👍

I've only ever been to the Blade Show once, and that was in 2016, so the time has come to return to Hotlanta. Now that knife making and cutlery design is my career, I mean, how could I not go?

Apart from some dagger sheaths for the CPK boot dagger, (which will likely be available from the CPK table), I'll have the following stuff with me, to show to experts for feedback and generally get a sense of where things are at with my work in a larger context. Mostly not for sale, as some are prototypes hopefully destined for production.

If you see me at the show, and want to check out some of my work, I'll have the following;

I'd love to see what others are bringing to the show, so if you want to post your stuff in this thread, that would be super cool with me
Yes on all of those !

No. Unfortunately. The Waverly is essentially booked before the Show is even completed.
