Blade Show Atlanta 2026

Thursday I got to hang with Mark and his wife a bit Friday met Redclay Redclay and his dad in line then we hung out for a while John Phillips John Phillips was there too (all great people btw)
Got to chat with Jo , Nathan and Mark a little more than usual since Saturday was a slow day . Finally ran down @WValtakis got to chat for a minute ( his work really pops in person like jewelry 😲 ).
I even got to buy a few knives .. almost forgot Steven65 Steven65 what a wealth of knowledge and just so pleasant to talk to he is definitely :cool:

Great meeting you as well Not_Lefty Not_Lefty and Redclay Redclay , I think we got in line a 4:15am and the time flew by talking CPK and knives in general. Learned a lot about CPK from these guys and became even more of a fan.
 
Gotta say, I got there early, got in early, but everything of any interest was already sold off because many vendors bought and hoarded the new releases before the doors even opened. It should not be allowed to have sales before the early bird general public can get in.

I talked to a few vendors that mentioned this and how it was frustrating them.

And since it's vendors buying, you can expect most of them to be flipping them for a profit. Just slimy.

More and more people are forgoing the blade show and coming to the outlaw cut in october. For the CPK crowd. It's easier to get knives and it's a cool environment where you get to meet everyone and actually play with some of the knives on a blade Sports cut. And I will feed you, you don't have to go out into Atlanta traffic.

one of my fondest memories was driving through Atlanta traffic with you. It's not often I get to see my whole life in a moment- that's really a special thing.

Matt was tryin to convince me to attend your shindig this year. How such a rapscallion can be so caring is truly one of nature's miracles. It would be pretty awesome.
 
I attended Blade in 2007 and 2009, when my primary interest was Busse Combat Knives. They had several tricks for handling the huge crowds. One was to cover the table with a cloth and allow no sales until 30 minutes after the doors opened. Another was to hold up a knife for all to see, then throw the tag out into the crowd, and whoever grabbed it had the right to buy that knife. That was a crazy scene. Yet another was to stage the drops over the course of Friday and Saturday, with a signboard announcing what would be available at what time.
In 2009 I was able to walk into the hall on Thursday evening during setup, walk around, and bought a custom Swayback Jack from the maker. Friday morning I got in line at 7 and almost all of us were Busse fans. Fun times.

I had always found roenman to be an OK guy, he even let me share a room one year at a Knob Creek Busse show. Several years ago I got into a disagreement with him on his FB page when he opined that people on SS should be exempt from paying any more income taxes, so he asked me to leave his page. So it goes.
