Blade show buying agent??

I have developed a craving for folding knives from one particular knife maker. Lateley he only sells at the blade show. Knives left over are sold to a couple dealers and those have been the knives I have so far.

Is it possible to have a knife buyer agent who would go to his booth, take pictures, and be a buying agent to buy the knife I choose?

Are there people who do that sort of stuff?

There are people who will do this for others, they are often called a "Proxy".

I personally do not know of any, nor am I going to the show (unfortunately).
I would take a look around for blade show threads and see if anyone is already doing this for another and shoot them an email.

Best of luck.

If you have a buddy going to the show, there you go. Trust me, no one will bat an eye if your proxy buyer (what this situation would be called) stood there with his cell-phone and live chatted with you and asked the seller questions on your behalf. It was happening at any number of tables when I was there last. Well, those guys, and all the Youtube channel guys*.

*Some of whom are a real pain, when they decide that their Youtube interview is more important than you trying to buy a knife and muscle in.

Who is maker? You paying cc over phone? Some makers sell out during setup..

If it were guns, it would be a straw purchase. No problem with knives. I will probably attend again this year. I go just about every year. Generally if I don't go, it's either because I am working or don't have any money. I pretty much won't go without $1000 in my pocket. I almost always spend the money and then some.

Actually this isnt a bad of an idea...i live 15-20 mins from the galleria/waverly...

I've seen buyer's agents at shows, but have never seen them advertise. The dealers you bought them from may have a relationship with the maker and can get you exactly what you want as opposed to just what's on the table. May want to ask them.

Depending on the maker many knives are sold before the show opens to the general public....excepting those that run a lottery or open bid.

I haven't seen any elite makers take credit cards, cash is king at Blade.
