Blade Show Buys?

Oddly enough I've never actually bought a knife for myself at the bladeshow. One for my son? Check. One for my wife? Check. Longleaf khukri for a friend? Check. Another one for my son? Check. Bizarrely this year I bought one for me and of all the things this is what I bought.

For lack of a better name I'm calling it my Mexican chopper, because well, I was wondering the show and ran across some gentlemen from Mexico that were selling these beasts. As you can see it's nearly 16 inches long and about 4.5 inches wide. It resembles a cleaver more than anything else. They had other patterns as well of a similar rustic nature. It's actually got a paper shaving edge on it, they called it a survival knife and I guess maybe it is if you need to survive chopping a battalion of beef ribs or maybe a flotilla of chicken wings. It's a quirky sort of piece and very solid. Seems about like the blade show to me...
