Blade Show Dinner

Dylside had put up a thread a while back about meeting up for dinner Friday night of the blade show. I wanted to start a new thread to see who all was coming and who all wanted to go to dinner. We are talking about trying to go to Dave and Busters but other suggestions are welcome. We would like to go somewhere that we can all sit together or have a private room.

A. Let us know if you are in.
B. Let us know how many you are bringing.
C. Let us know if you have suggestions of somewhere else to meet.

C. I suggested Dave and Busters but will be happy with anywhere that has cold beer.

I don't know Dave & Busters... how far is it from the Blade venue? Good food?

I did like the Pappadeaux restaurant where we ate last year, there is also a Fuddruckers a block from Pappadeaux, I may be partial to these places as they are a mere stumble away from the Extended Stay where I am staying!

My old office is about 2 miles from the Galleria. There are MANY fine eatin' places near-by... depending on budget. I enjoy D&B and they do serve beer :)

Also, just across the parking lot from Pappadeaux is Pappacitos (excellent Mex), just down the way is Houstons (same area as Fud's), but on the expensive side. Closer to Galleria is Carabbas, just across the street is the Cumberland Mall with many fine eatin' places (http://www.cumberlandmall.com/dining-entertainment) or you can go neighborhood bar with wings and darts just up the hill. Just about anything you want.

Having said that, I just may be able to get away to join y'all! (and now I am hungry)

Mrs S is more the "make fun of others and talk you into dancing on the bar" type than doing it herself at the moment. But feed her enough landshark & corona, and you never know...
Oh, yeah - you might want to put in some OT before Blade -- she's also an expensive drunk. :D (just ask Jeff)

The only thing we need to keep in mind when deciding where to go is that some people might be bringing a kid or two with them and we have to make sure it's somewhere they are allowed. I personally would have opted for the seediness of my beloved Doc's, but no kiddies allowed so that's a no-go. D&B is good because it's kid friendly AND they serve alcohol. I think the food there was pretty good everytime I went. Then again, I was always poop-faced and juggling chips and cheese dip while shooting terrorists so what do I know. lol

The D&B is about 8 miles away from the Galleria IIRC. If someone needs a ride, I'll probably have some room in the truck and I don't mind.

Like Whitty said, let's get a head count!

Just checking. I am planning on being out there and was wondering if anyone is looking to split the cost of a room for 1 or two nights. Let me know

Oh, you SOOOOOOOO don't want to share a room with the Mrs. and I when we get away without the kids.:D
