I'm finally booked for going to Blade this year. I'm planning on getting a kiln this year, and I'm wondering if it pays to hold off until I go to blade. Is it likely that someone will have a great sale on kilns at Blade, or should I just order the thing now?

The end of the last day of the show, some dealer might give you a bargain rather than take the kiln back home.
When I used to set up at Blade, buyers would come around late on the last day and try to get cut-rate deals on knives that were still on the table.

That just depends. I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing any massive deals (or a lot of stock) on kilns at BLADE, but you never know. Look at the exhibitors list on the BLADE website and talk to the companies that will be there, and see what they'll have on hand. (EvenHeat and Paragon are both listed as having booths.)

If you're driving back and can get one you like at normal price, you'll save a bunch on shipping and that would certainly be worthwhile. If you're flying in, I'd just order one now.

I bought my Evenheat at Blade about 3 years ago. I first went to the Evenheat booth and was told that they could not sell to individuals. They did, however, inform me that they had delivered 10 ovens to "Jantz" at the show (Helped to save on shipping I suppose).

I went to Jantz' tables, did a little back-and-forth dealing, and saved about $75.00 from what they have them listed for in their catalog/website. They even loaded it into my truck for me. In addition, "No shipping charges" and "No sales tax".
