Blade Show Questionaire

..... Maybe Kevin will break his code of silence and tell a good Las Vegas story. Stephen never finished his review... :(
David

Stephen Foster was not there, Stephan Fowler did not write a review, and MY review was completed on Saturday.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Steven,
Woops! Sorry that was a slip up. You think I'd remember by now.. must be getting old! .
David

What were your non-knife costs, if you care to share them? We have to find a way to make Dr. Darom feel better, it seems he sold the Dead Sea Scrolls to get the plane ticket!! ;)
David

Airfare=$375.00
My end of the hotel bill=$500.00

I am not going to share my food/beverage costs because it is embarassing, except for dinner at Maggiano's=$30.00 including tip.

I spent about $500.00 on handle materials, including $130.00 for 2 very good rawhide stingray skins.

Dr. Darom is a resiliant, tough SOB with excellent skills, don't worry too much about him.;)

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

If I had been lucky enough to find a single page of the "original" Dead Sea
Scrolls, my friends, I would send my private jet to fly everyone to a
knife show in Tokyo...... But, thanks for thinking about me, David "2knife".... :)

As of now I am just spending hard earned $$$ and enjoying every minute!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I was on a bit of a tighter budget than I was back in '05 when I went a little crazy on knife purchases. Here is my guestimated breakdown.
airfare.....free. I burned a few of my Delta miles.
rental car and gas....$200 MOL
hotel....$180....I was only there for 2 nights and stayed at the Hampton.
food and beverage. $90 or so on restaraunt meals at Sonny's, Olive Garden and Longhorn and, of course, the obligatory pre-departure meal of artery clogging soul food at the Concourse A outlet of Paschals. $9 for some sweet and sour possum downstairs, a bit at Starbucks and maybe $30-40 on libations Saturday night.:D I was not there Thursday and passed out Friday night at about 7:30, so the food and drink dagage was minimal.
I think I spent somewhere north of $350 on stag and $120 on ironwood, bought another bag of stainless Corby bolts and had Coop photograph my knife. The ivory still scares the hell out of me. I will have to trail Don Hanson on his buying frenzy next year and see if I can pick up a few crumbs.

OK, I'll play.
Drove about 950 miles, roundtrip. Me, my wife, and our 9 month old son.
Gasoline bill was just a touch over $200.
Tow charge when my car broke down 20 miles from home: $68.
Hotel (Embassy Suites) was $500 and change for 4 days.
Meals/beverages were probably in the $300 - $350 range. Would've been more, but it's tough to do the Pit correctly with a baby along for the ride.
Boarding for my two dogs while we were gone: $210

Knife purchases came right in at budget (and I left with $500 still in my pocket).

Worth every penny we spent. :D

Round trip plane Tik....Free...( miles )
Hotel ..Marriott suites ..$44 a night..( thank Goodness for Hotwire )
Rental car..$70 again..thank god for hotwire..
Food...Free..thanks to knifemakers..
Knife budget $2500...
I did not drink..saves money..and I do not need the hangover..:D

fun had=Priceless..

I left the credit cards at home..
