Yep, the Balisong folks in the corner were a real turn-off for me. The production booths in general were the best for me with several good interactions and some good knives for reasonable money too!
The custom side of the show was really mixed for me. Half the tables were either empty or the people there might as well have been somewhere else away from the show. Pricing generally seemed to be really high and quality was a bit suspect in many cases.
The facility itself was not very good IMHO. Zero tables and chairs for anyone to sit and rest a spell. Some of the floor staff were downright unpleasant in their interactions with vendors and patrons. Parking was problematic as well with my pickup.
The number of vendors selling Ti pens there was eye-opening. I get the trend for Tactical Pens for Mall Ninja's and the desire for some people to have a premium ballpoint pen but, the number of pen vendors at the show was way over the market demand IMHO.
The table I missed I assume because I walked by thinking it was another CNC slap-together maker was Mr. Wilson's table. I really would have liked to have seen and probably taken home one of his Kepharts. I guess that just means I will need to go to Atlanta Blade!
I hope Blade Texas finds a better venue for next year.
