Blade Show Texas 2026

Here is what I picked up, not near as many or as necessarily “high demand” as many people’s pickups, but I am very pleased with each knife!

When the doors opened on Friday, I was torn between trying to get a Heretic show special, or heading to Rike. When I saw the crowd around Heretic, I moved on down to the Ketuo/Rike booth and picked this up. It’s the Rike Smelter, a collaboration with custom maker “Six Fingers”. This is the knife I saw a few days before the show that I really wanted, so I was a little in shock that I picked up the only one they had in this style!
M390 blade, everything else is titanium, it uses Allen keys instead of torx and it is one sided construction, I really dig the aesthetic of this heavy little knife!

My second knife I purchased from an amazingly talented young maker. I believe he said he was 19, an apprentice ABS smith. His name is Elisha White, he was more than polite and I enjoyed talking to him.
This one is 80crv2, vintage butterscotch micarta, and he did the leatherwork as well! I am happy I picked this up because I have a feeling he’s going to go very far!

Lastly, I picked up this beautiful horn handled pocket fixed blade from C. Fox Knives. We had talked the first day, but by the second day I knew I should try to avoid that table lest I walk away with one of his knives. He is from Texas but lives in Italy, and I think his style is evident of this! He really won me over when he threw in a bandana as well, but this has become a surprising favorite!
RWL-34 blade steel, buffalo horn handle with white g10 liners.

I have been exhibiting at the show for the past 5 years or so and this was probably my favorite one yet! I was on the fence about keeping my table before this show because i was toward the back and not many people around me made similar knives... but I moved tables this year and was lucky to get moved up front with many of the other slipjoint makers . I had WAY more foot traffic, and had some great people right beside and behind me that i got to know/see again and talk to... Made the decision easy for me!! See ya'll there again next year!!

You’d think they would organize it better to prevent that sort of thing from happening. What’s so hard about keeping like groups together? I’m actually very surprised they don’t.

I’m sure they have their reasoning…just glad I ended up where I’m at now! I wouldn’t want to be in charge of putting that show on and trying to keep everyone happy!haha they’re doing a pretty dang good job as far as I’m concerned!!👏👏
