Yeah Dan I will stop by and see what is there now as far as a place to eat goes. Will try to go this afternoon but I will be over there tomorrow morning for work so I will know by then one way or the other. There is a covered walkway that goes over to the Mall from the hotel/convention center. Which is a good thing since crossing the road there would be insane to do on foot, possible but not recommended. Anyway. I can't wait to meet all that are going. Mark

edited to add Sorry that you won't be able to make it Spectre. I will have to check on maybe using my brothers house for a Khon later in the summer.

Mmm... meat. Well, if we want to try and arrange rides, there's some good carnivore fare in Atlanta. In no particular order (though all rather spendy):

1. Bones -- said to be the best steaks in town. Never been there, but have heard nothing but raves.

2. Fogo de Chao -- Brazilian "barbeque." You get a plate and a card: green on one side, red on the other. As long as the green side's up, waiters continue to present you with cuts of meat -- over 30 varieties. Been there once, arteries still recovering. :D

3. The Imperial Fez -- belly dancing and eating with your hands, what could be better? Had my bachelor party there and we all had a blast (didn't have much interest in strippers and warm Bud -- scantily clad dancing girls and Morrocan "punch" on the other hand...).

Like I said, we'd need to coordinate carpools, and these are pretty spendy. Depends on how special an occasion we want to make it. ;) I'll be happy to drive three, assuming I can come -- I'll know for sure in the next couple of days.

Honestly, I don't really care where we eat, Mark. Just pick a place and tell us. I'm very easy about it. Just want a place and have it figured out soon. I got a lot on my plate this week and weekend....Friday's going to be crazy....don't wait for me to make a decision. Whatever's cool with the group is fine with me.

Also, good chance we'll be able to add Shane Justice to the list too....got an email confirming he'll be there Friday. :cool:
 
Mark, I agree with Pen...just pick a spot. Jocks and Jills at the mall (decent menu) or Micks would be just fine. I'm not looking for a gourmet meal...decent food and new friends is what I'm looking for. :)
 
For everyone's ease I will say that we will meet at Jocks and Jills Sports Bars at or around 7:30 pom on Friday. I will give them a call about a table. Looking at the list I will try to get something for around ten people. shappa is the only one that has said they will have someone with them, which would put us at eight total. This way will will have a couple person buffer. We can always wedge someone else around the table if we have to. Thanks and everyone coming into town let me know if you have any problems and I will see what I can do. Mark

Thanks for taking the time to do this for us! Since it is 2731.49 miles away (mapquest is fun) all I can do is look around on the 'net.
 
Lion's Roar. It is located in the same complex of buildings as the Blade Show itself. It would in the Galleria Specialty Mall. It is all located across the street from Cumberland Mall. I believe that Jock's and Jills is where the movie theater is located. Hope that helps.

Hey, don't knock it until you've tried it, man. They don't require you to get up and dance with the belly dancer. ;)

Jocks and Jills sounds plenty good to me, too. If it's in the same building as the show we'll definitely need a reservation...

Here is the deal. They only take reservations for partys of twenty or more. I was told that even with the Blade Show that they would have no problem seating us. Now I have little faith in that happening so I am going try and go by there tonight and talk to a manager, not sure if I will be able to do so to be honest. That being said I will fall back to plan 2. Which I will call "operation sit my butt at a big table". Plan O.S.M.B.B.T will mean that I will go to Jocks and Jills after the Blade Show closes and put my name in for a table and sit my happy butt there untill everybody shows up. I live in Roswell and there would not be a easy way for me to go home after the show then come right back. For those of you coming in from out of town and do not know Atlanta traffic, that could be a 2 hour to forever round trip on a Friday afternoon. Those that wish can email me and I will give you my cell phone number in case there are any problems finding each other. You should be able to find me without to much problem. 5'9" about 230lbs Black hair about 1mm long. Big scar on the right side of my forehead. More then likely wearing a dark colored shirt with a smiley face button (yes did read that right) on my right shoulder. I tell you the right shoulder in case some other guy has one on his left ;) . Mark - sounds good to me. Thanks for taking this on. I think there will be a few of us willing to hang around until the gang shows up.

What time we meeting again? (I've been telling people 7-7:30)
