Blade Show

My one funny story from last year's show.Paul Long and I were staying at the same hotel last year, and we were standing at the reception counter talking,my briefcase holding my knives was an the counter beside us.I was waiting on a taxi to the show, and Paul offered to give me a ride.I thanked him but declined since the taxi was already enroute.Taxi shows up and gives me the ride,I hop out and get to the top of the stairs at the show when I realize I don't have my briefcase!I run back down and start to run down to the interstate, thinking I had left it in the cab.Of course I am in panic mode, because I did'nt even know the name of the taxi serviceI I was about to take of running to the hotel when Paul pulls up beside me in his truck, rolls down his window and says"Don't worry Johnny,I've got it!I had left my breifcase on the counter at the hotel, and Paul knew my knives were in it,so he tells the counter cleck he will take it to me,so Paul really saved my butt that time!

Kind of a funny true story...

I was at Corrie Schoeman's table last year just checking out a few of his fantastic folders. This guy next to me was on his cell talking. I wasn't really paying much mind to what he was saying until he said "Yes Axil, I have it right here!". After he hung up, he said to Corrie, "Axil will take this one". Of course I had to ask, and yes, he was talking to Axil Rose.
It's funny how the eccentric don't even come to the show to pick their own folders. Probably don't want the attention.
I also saw Steven Segal walk in with bunch of body guards. He went to one table, bought a knife or two, then walked out.

Here is one BLADE Show I really enjoyed - BLADE 2007,
where I introduced my 4th volume on Modern Custom Knives,
"The Great Collections"....

All the best,
