Blade similar to Spydie Rock Salt?

So I have returned from a week long backcountry trip where my Rock Salt accompanied me. It performed like a champ and I'm very pleased with it. The size, ergos, pretty well everything was perfect except one thing; blade thickness.

Don't get me wrong, I like the thinner 3mm stock and I really appreciated its lighter weight as I carried it and my overloaded pack through the woods. However, I didn't feel good about batoning with it and chopping fat limbs.

So here's my question: what other blades out there have a similar pattern but are a bit sturdier? I came upon Koster's MUCK pattern, but I'm not sure I want to wait. Does anybody have any ideas? I'd love to hear them.

The warrior is NOT a good woods knife. Thats not to say it couldn't be used as such, but thats not on par with its design.

Can't go wrong with anything from Koster.

Spyderco's other fixed blades like the moran might be of interest to you. Otherwise take a look at ESEE, blade shapes are different but they are a heck of a blade.

Benchmade nimravus also comes to mind but there aren't too many similarities. Whats your favorite feature of the rock salt?

Having seen pictures of H1 Spyderco folders with their blades bent 90 degrees I wouldn't be too worried about the 3mm Rock Salt failing. The only minus would be lack of weight for chopping in which case you could purchase a kukri. Personally I think thickness is often over rated, check out Noss's tests on Cold Steel,s Bushman, I wish Noss would test a Rock Salt

My favourite feature is the fact that it is shaped like a khukuri, but is not totally optimized towards chopping. I'm basically looking for a similar sized blade with a positive bias like a khukuri but that would still be useful for slicing things for food prep, etc.

I've been looking at the HI khukuris and while they are nice, they aren't quite what I had in mind. Does anyone know of any other khukuri-type patterns near the same size?

The Tatang looks interesting. A little dork-ops perhaps, but interesting. The Outcast is a fine blade, no doubt, but it is too big. Do you guys have any other ideas?
