Blade size question

Texas has the 5.5 inch rule for general carry, larger is ok when hunting, fishing, or clearing brush, anything up to and including a Machete, (this has been my experience over the last 40 years although I have not lived here the entire time) maybe ask a Game Warden or a local Constable.)

I'm currently stationed in San Antonio, and this is what I've been wondering. I know I can't carry my SYKCO 711 in the city, but will the game warden care if I have it with me when I'm hunting or camping out in the boonies? Like you said, the best thing to do is ask.

I'm here in SA brother. I work at Ft. Sam. If you need something just ask. I believe those rules to be spot on. I've lived here 15 years and have had no issues. 5.5 for general carry. But if you're in the woods doing woods things, your blade becomes a "camping tool" so you shouldn't have issues. I work with a Game Warden but don't see him often. Next time I see him I'll see what he says. But in my experience (and I was LE for 20 years), if you're honest and up front if you ever end up in a bind, you shouldn't have any issues.
