Good after noon. I am looking for a place to buy high carbon steel in the Bangor Maine area. AE 1095 1084 01

You can check Fastenal and fine those sometimes. They usually have W1/W2 which is roughly equivalent to 1095.

If you have a mailbox at your house or place of employment, just order from Aldo (NJSB), Chuck at Alpha, or any of the standard steel suppliers. It will be at your door in a few days.

I'm in Bangor and have never been able to find any high carbon steel anywhere in Maine. I've been very happy with steel from Flatground.com over the years.

I am in Bangor too, fastenal drill rod is the only high carbon steel I have found. Bangor Steel does have 1045, 4340 and maybe others for other non knife projects.
