No blade swaps are available on 110 Folding Hunters until the end of January.
Blade swaps on 560 Titaniums and 426's will not be done any more.
If you call Buck and someone tells you that we can do a swap, they are wrong. I have informed everyone here that this service is on hold for now but you never know who you might reach when you call Buck and you might reach someone that does not know.
Not to sound harsh, I just dont want there to be any misunderstandings about this.
Offering blade swaps was something that I started a few years back, just because I thought it would be a cool thing to offer our customers. We have never advertised it in our catalogues, it has always been a best kept secret kind of thing.
I encountered oposition at the plant because doing this obviously takes away from potential Custom Shop orders but I insisted and took care of the requests through my repairs department.
They are on hold because I am currently behind about a week in the repairs department. This is the department where all the warranty repairs are done. It is hunting season and we get a lot of knives in this time of year.
Doing the blade swaps takes extra time because they are like a fish swimming against the current here as far as how they are processed. The only reason I do them at all is because, like I said above, it is a very cool thing to offer and I can tell that a lot of guys and gals love the idea of retrofitting their favorite old 110 with a new high tech blade. It definetely is not a money making venture but it makes me feel good about my job to be able to offer this when I can. Hopefully, by the end of January, I will be posting that the blade swaps are again available and I will have a list of the blade steels available too.
I'm very sorry to have to cut this service off for now.
