well after a realllly busy week last week (working 16-20 hour days)
i finally have time to put these knives up on the forums. i got some critiques about the sheaths so i came home and fixed them up real nice.
okay here are the specs:

Length
OAL: 13 3/4"
Blade:8 3/4" (including habaki)
Handle: 5"
ground 1095 steel blade differentially tempered with clay
Copper habaki, fuchi, and kashira
Brass seppa, and mekugi
Blued steel tsuba
Rayskin wrapped with silk ito
poplar and grenedillo sheath

The blade is razor sharp... i mean REALLLY and has been differentially tempered so it stays that way.

feedback is very helpful to me

Please let me know if you are interested at Knifemaker87@gmail.com this knife is sold... thanks yall

wow Chris, the sheaths turned out great...i don;t see a mekugi...is it a takedown piece? and is the longer one for sale, too?

thanks.

it would be a take down peice if i hadnt glued it on. i dont trust my fits yet. they are really snug but still... the next one will be a true take down.
and yeah the bigger one is for sale.... check out "blade tanto I"

OK, you still got me. What is Ray skin?

You know those big flat things called stingrays, that slide along the ocean bottom and whack a great ivory stinger into famous television personalities sometimes. Those things.

But seriously, it is one of the traditional coverings for the handles on Japanese blades. I think it is somehow bleached first. It's very grippy because it's got kinda bony bumps in it.

Here's one with Sharkskin which is similar

Hey chris, got the tanto, it is beautiful. I am a happy guy. The knife feels so good in the hand too. Workmanship is very good. I am going to have to have you make one to order.
Somebody better get Tanto I before I weaken.
Thanks, JB

*laughs* thanks john... but the other one has been taken
your resolve shall remain but we will have to work out that order
take care
~Chris
