Blade templates?

usually people just make their own design. try taking one of your knives and sketch it out on paper and use that as a template.

I've a CD of Lloyd Hardings templates somewhere... I made copies and placed them on a site, then lost track of the site.
Very nice designs indeed.

I always have enjoyed the design portion of the process. I usually make templates of my own designs out of kydex to repeat it if the actual knife turned out well as far as balance and utility of the shape. But I must also admit that I have traced around the designs of others to give them a try as well. Sorry, I guess this doesn't really answer your question other than to give the suggestion of making models of designs before making the commitment to steel.

Someone posted a link to a bunch of nice ones here or in W$SS, not long ago. I don't recall what thread it was in tho :( Keep asking, it'll turn up.

The best way, I think, is just look at knives and pictures of knives and specs on knives and draw up your own templates based on things such as that. Another really great source of info is listening to those that say what they like in a knife design and function. The handle sizing and fit to hand is the trick.
