Do utility knives count? The large handled ones are like you speak.
No they don't count. I guess it's more about "intended design". I was mostly referring to folders. Not utility/box cutters or fixed blades.

Exactly !IMO, there's no such thing as too much handle, unless it's ridiculously so. Blade to handle ratios are for nerds to quibble over. The only thing that matters is how YOUR knife works for YOU. If you like something, does it matter what the next man thinks about it? Nope.

I'm faced with a quandary decision.... installing new HVAC return grills inside my house.... Do I use a utility knife to cut the paint around the edges of the old ones or do I use a regular ratio'd folder? May have to sleep on this decision.
Since I don't feel like doing it today.
A nice, well balanced, do all sort of knife for a well balanced, well adjusted, normal sort of person.Use a Cold Steel XL model.![]()
The Cold Steel XL would do it! My returns have gotten a little rusty (almost 30 years old) and my wife in her wisdom painted the old ones with latex paint. At times the cats like to pee on them. Think that has ended however.
So . . . box knives. You are talking about box knives. The oldest metal knives we've found have handles much longer than the blade partly due to limitations of materials, but those knives were used for very utilitarian purposes.
Thanks!Usually new members.Welcome to the forum!
I don't pay much attention to a blade to handle ratio. If I like the knife, that is all that matters to me.
