Anyone have experience with Blade Universe? Recently ordered an Al Mar SERE 2000 $115) from them; have heard nothing and can get no response from their customer service.

Did you order by phone or on-line?

When I see deals that appear too good to be true, I call them to ask about the product.

Not too long ago I was shopping for some sun glasses and saw what seemed to be a great deal on the internet. I called the 1-800 number and it turned out to be a Russia based company...Saving $30.00 with a company owned by the Russian mob! Needless to say, they did not get my credit card number!

We should have, here on bladeforums, a directory of reputible on-line knife sources and the ones to avoid.

I've had good experience with the following:
- knifeworks.com
- knifesite.com
- cutlery to go
- vinny's knives
among others that I don't recall the names.

I think you're on the right track by checking here with the other members before making future orders from unfamiliar sources.

I've ordered several knives from bestknives.com and have had excellent service. the last knife I ordered from them was 310.00 so I would say they are quite trustworthy.

sophijo -

I would either try accessing your account on-line or call your card company to see if your purchase has gone through. If it's still possible, I'd cancel the transaction. I doubt that you'll ever be able to contact the company. All the website will do is to give you a Customer Service number and tell you to keep checking back - forever. . .

Sophijo,

You didn't say if you paid or not, and if you paid how you paid.

If you paid by credit card and do not recieve the item, tell your credit card company - in writing ASAP - to reverse the charge to your account. Tell them the reason is that the merchadise was not sent. I had to do that with this bunch when the fallkniven I ordered never arrived and all efforts at communication -- telephone, e-mail, snail-mail -- were ignored.

If you sent a money order or check by mail, contact the U.S.P.S. Postal Inspectors and report that you are the victim of mail fraud. DO not deal with a clerk, You want an honest-to-God Postal Inspector (USPS cop).

"They may want to rip you off, but they don't want to do time." annon.

Good luck.

Exactly! Why take a chance with other internet dealer when you have some of the best as supporting dealers of BF? If any dealer has shown a propensity towards dishonesty, Spark would not allow them to become supporting dealers here.

Here's the contact info for their domain name, they list 555-555-5555 for all their phone numbers. Any place that tries to make it hard to contact them is a place to aviod. Call your credit card company and tell them you want to dispute the charges if they are already on your bill, if they haven't made a claim yet tell them you want to block any future claim from this company.

The suggestion to deal with the forums dealers is some of the best advice an E-Purchasing newbie can get, and heed. It's pretty much a no brainer. Anxiety free shopping.
