Blade Warp

Well , your dewar is for storage liquid nitrogen .Make some research on net about Nitrogen bucket or Dewar Flask (Wide Mouth) .................

.

I have a dewar with 80 mm mouth, so it's pretty good in that sense

Are you using a stress releaving step with the 14C28N? Some of the 14C28N I have seems like it only wants to warp. I cut out blanks and ended up with bananas with one batch but they actually mostly straightened themselves with the stress relieving step.

No I haven't done a stress relief yet. I want to try it. But 14c28n is the easiest to peen straight, out of all the steels I use. And I only make a few blades a year, so it's been ok in that way.
How do you stress relief, 650 celcius 2x2 hrs? I think a saw that somewhere

In that case you can make several U clamps ? Something like this ? I use them to hold blade on grinding jig ..............

595-705 C for 2 hours, air or furnace cool.

After the blades are quenched, I clamp them all together with small 1" C-Clamps. The C-Clamps are consumables in this process and will need to be replaced from time to time. Harbor Freight has them cheap. They go in the liquid clamped together and they go through all the temper cycles clamped together. I heat treat hundreds of blades a year and rarely have to straighten. If I have to straighten, a few wacks with a KH Daily carbide hammer and they are perfect.
