I think this was my 23rd or 24th straight Blade Show (dang I am getting old). Anyway after all that time, the knives are great and they get better every year, but they are secondary to getting to spend some time with friends many of which I only get to see once a year.

Some stories about the knives below.
The top one is by Tony. It has been a while since I was lucky at his or Reece's drawing, but I guess the "horseshoe" was positioned correctly this year.

The one in the middle is by Ken Erickson. He made it and had it at Blade in 2012 which was the year his horseman knife won Best Folder at the show. I had picked that 1/2 whillter out to bring home with me, but the guy that was supposed to pick up the horseman did a no-show and Ken gave me the chance to get the knife (this all happened before it won the award.) Anyway, thanks to a friend who was selling it and gave me the chance to pick it up.

I had picked up my 2ond carbon fiber linerless knife by Jim Dunlap on the exchange a couple of weeks ago to give to my dad on Father's day; impressive work, so I managed to pick up another one from Jim at the show. Really enjoyed meeting him.

Cool! Thanks Gus! And Congrats on bagging such magnificent knives!

You have excellent taste Gus! :)

All stunners, well done! But the tip bolsters on that Erickson are beautiful!

Congrats Gus! You must have been ecstatic to win that beauty.

I am looking forward to seeing you in 360 days brother........:)

Gus- nice to see you posting here my friend, and ALWAYS nice to see your magnificent knives- it looks as though you did have a good time!
Im not too sure if I could even walk up to collect that knife if my name had been drawn out to be able to obtain it!!! Just Wow!

Thanks all, but the credit goes to the makers.

Steven, you were dearly missed brother I felt a little lost without you and GigOne around. Duncan, I dream that we will get together some day. You and Steven need to get together if possible very soon since he may just be in the area. :)

Oh and Steven the Big Bear I picked up from Neill Shutte is stunning and as close to perfect as any. Thank you for gently suggesting that I order the thing!!

Really nice knives, Gus! That Half Whittler really pushes my buttons though.

Wow, those are amazing! Anyone would be happy with one of those, let alone 3.

I wanted to make it down there this year, but life just got in the way.

Maybe it'll happen next year. Sounds like you had a good time.

All stunning, but that Erickskn steals the show in my eyes:thumbup:Blade always seems to fall on a week where I can't possibly get away from work, but one of these years I will be there!

Genn if you do we have to spend some time wandering around together or at least hit breakfast with Steven65 and GigOne.

I would certainly look forward to that!

Gus I am delighted that you like the Big Bear. You can't go wrong with a two time Blade Show award winner.
Niell put a special effort into that one because he knew it was going to a bloke with a keen eye! LOL;)

I believe that next year it is my turn to pay for breakfast.:)

All three are great looking but I agree with Gary...and why shouldn't we Gary's stick together :), about that half whittler, just lovely!
G2

Congrats Gus! All three are nice, but that half whittler takes my breath away!

Awesome knives, but you are right about meeting up with old friends at the show being best.
I did get to order my first Tim Britton knife, a really big deal for me.
Never found anywhere to meet up with any blade trad guys, Esnyx booth
was empty sat afternoon.
Got there at 10, never saw Tony this year.
Had a great time as always, my cousin made it for the show also.
I have been a little under the weather the week before, so I didn't think to take any pics.
Hope to meet some of you next year.
