Blade was a fantastic time

This really was a great year at Blade! I am sorry I missed you, Gus, and Jody! I closed up a little early on Saturday so that I could get a chance to roam around the show a little.

Met some awesome people and knifemakers, and saw some friends as well. I got to hang out with Reese and Tony again, spent a while chatting with Dave Taber(Dr.T) and Jared Oeser on Tursday night. Met Luke Swenson and Bill Ruple at the show. All great guys and very encouraging/inspiring. I hope to be able to post some pics in a little while.

I'm not sure if I will have a table again next year, but I will definitely be there!

All three are great looking but I agree with Gary...and why shouldn't we Gary's stick together :), about that half whittler, just lovely!
G2

I agree with both Gary's Gus, I love Ken's work and that half whittler is fantastic.
I heard through the grapevineBrent had to wake you up when you won that Bose sway ;)

Hopefully get to meet you and others at Blade one year.

Gotta bring a quote from Ken back just to let everyone see how mesmerizing those stag covers are ;)

Had a chance to get some better pictures. Real happy with this one, also first with tip bolsters for me.

Congrats on the draw and picking up the other two. All are fine knives. I got to make it back to Blade. Maybe next year.

I apparently just missed you Evan when I stopped by your table. Had a good conversation with Phil though. The knives you had at your table were outstanding by the way.

Nice chattin' with ya! ;)

Sorry to have missed you Gus. That little swayback from Tony is a real score. I got to fondle it for a bit on Thursday night. Good stuff!

Thanks all, but the credit goes to the makers.

Steven, you were dearly missed brother I felt a little lost without you and GigOne around. Duncan, I dream that we will get together some day. You and Steven need to get together if possible very soon since he may just be in the area. :)

Oh and Steven the Big Bear I picked up from Neill Shutte is stunning and as close to perfect as any. Thank you for gently suggesting that I order the thing!!

Gus, Sir that would be great, I have managed to see our Jack  Awsome - and to be honest, that day will stay with me forever - it's ingrained and am going very very soon to see some great knife friends- so it's not the impossible my friend!
Got the pm by Steven :D

Thanks! Had my phone not been dead all day Saturday, I would have run back to the table to meet you! Maybe next year we can meet up.

So sorry I mean missed you Evan. We need to make it a pont to get together next year.

Congrats Gus. I think keeping the horseshoe in the same spot year round paid off for you this time.

No worries! We should definitely meet up next year. Congratulations on those beautiful knives! We must have walked right past each other a few times, because I was also in the Bose raffle room on Friday.

Just a FANTASTIC job of execution and interpretation on that Half Whittler from Ken Erickson! Whoever backed out of that deal must have had some bizarre reasons. Lottery for you though Gus. I'd fancy that type of pattern with a long pull swage Spear too, as shown in the catalogue pictures. Well, a man can, no, must dream!:D:D:thumbup:

Regards, Will

Gus, so happy about your T. Bose draw! And, glad to be there to experience it. It is a superb piece and one to cherish.

Great visiting with you. I still appreciate, at my first Blade Show, having you and Elliott showing me the ropes.

Plus, that Shutte Big Bear is amazing! Clean, clean, clean!

Best, Joe

I spent some time with Joel Chamblin, not much, but a bit.

He had some young Canadian fellow with him who helps design the modern line he makes these days.

I asked if he cared to see my favorite knife ever, a MOP Single spring pen that Joel made...it's absolutely perfect; genuine praise I save for decades of reserved applaud. I break out "My Precious", bought second hand last year at Blade. Digging it out of my bag, showing Joel the knife...he turns to his large, young Canadian friend and he simply says "I told you I make a good knife". He turns to me and says, "I made this 14 years ago".

I think we both almost shed a tear. Powerful the short and long memories.

I wish he spent all of his energy on Trads these days.

I enjoyed my time with Evan (esnyx) and Philllllllllll :) as well.

I wish the Trad crowd had a more regimented meet up operation. I have much to learn. #greedy
