Got to see Captain Airyca and fam.
Saw Ethan, but only in passing as he was on his way to have lunch with his son.
A lot of cool stuff at Blade West this year. Tons of custom makers with some really great stuff.
I ended up picking up a CRKT Woods Chogun tomahawk and a couple Moras.
Good times!

Another Blade Show is over.... I am usually too tired after a show to even think straight.... This one was truly great because I was not handcuffed to a booth...I got to be a kid in a candy store again.... This show is just about the right size ..... You can see everything and spend a bit of time with interesting makers and fondle anything that has appeal.... And there were some of my favorite people to see and talk at.... Only a fleeting talk with Jonny1280 unfortunately...I had hoped to reconnect after lunch but..... The lovely Airyca is always a pleasure to talk to..... I should have organized a KaffeKlatsch for everyone...Damn... It was really good to see the Fal’er and to meet his son Jack...He is going to be a solid citizen like his dad..It is always good to reconnect with people I enjoy in the industry as well...Had a great dinner with Doug and Sue Ritter with kniferights.org on Thursday.... Dan Eastland and I shared an Airbnb and he is good company... John and Susan from White River are always a delight.... Always good to see Anne Reeve of Chris Reeve.... The lovely Joyce from Spyderco was her usual lovely self and, much to my surprise I ran into the incredible Steve Schwarzer.... Schwarzer is a blade smith whose influence is much greater his rep and he has a great rep....(I have never heard I’m called Steve}.... look him up....Saw some interesting new handle material and a few really nice blades...

we had a first ever Blade West Culinary Knife Cutting Contest on Saturday night... Blade Staff and I cooked up the event and it was a blast....first ever events all have a few glitches but, overall it went really well...The few comms problems will be fixed next time and everybody had a good time, I think.....There was a pay bar, food trucks(in Portland that is a good thing) and an appreciative crowd...My thanks to all...

I rarely get to do a show this big and just indulge my inner knifenut and also get to be social....Was a really good weekend..

more to come as I remember stuff....

Sounds like a great time!!! ... and a nice gathering ... I like the shows whether it's knives or guns or camping & outdoor gear ... that are small enough you can casually see everyything you want and take time to visit with the people you want too.

It was so good to see you Ethan! I'm glad you enjoyed the show! I had a ball catching up with people and drooling over knives... such a good time!

I missed Ethan in the crowd.. one young Knife maker had a knife that caught my eye. 5160 steel. Energetic guy.
Valvavian Edge Craft. I went ahead and purchased this bruiser. He does the sheath work as well. The whole package has a rustic, use me feel to it.
Pretty cool. I think he called it a Medium Musso. I need to look that up.20191105_230101.jpg 20191105_230106.jpg 20191105_230128.jpg 1573024038883660914615060935492.jpg
