Blade West

Is there going to be anything to do in ontario besides talk knives, hang out and drink beer?...oh wait that's all i ever do, nevermind i'm covered. :D

Skunk,

You wouldn't miss it for the world, eh? What if Jerry said that the only way you would get your super-sword was by NOT coming to Blade West? Deal with the devil? ;) :p

Cheers,
BJB :D

This time I'm taking Kleenex with me, because last time I was laughing so hard I was crying.

Nice graphic Jennifer... :)

There we have it folks. An unafraid man with a mission. A man who wants to both have and eat his cake. A man who wants to be Braveheart William Wallace and down gumbo by the gallon. What's more - a man not afraid to deal with the devil himself. Stay tuned folks for further reports of his unprecedented exploits, here on ABC's Wide World of Sports! :p

Cheers,
BJB :D

Blade West is the show I wait all year for! Ontario is a long drive for me, but it will be worth it. For out of towners, it's in the desert, and should be HOT even in Sept!

Tknife,

Ontario is a drive for you from LA??!! And wouldn't you say "desert" is a bit of an exaggeration....

I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, live in Orange County, and work in LA.

;)

Yo Jerry, I assume us west coast hogs are getting a
special Blade show only knife as well?

I'm pretty sure it won't get lost. kassi and shaggi are already making plans for the trip and I'm nearly positive they won't let Jerry forget.

This will be our 4th Blade West show in 4 years...

The upside is, lots of factory reps...Mission, Buck, Emerson, etc.

Some semi-production reps like Strider, Busse, and Reeve...

Some hand-made makers like Mayo, Rinaldi, and Clark...

Some higher end semi-custom makers like Fowler, Onion, and similar...

A few true custom makers, mostly from off shore though...

A few purveyors like Dave Ellis, Gary Shaw, Paul Basch, etc...

Lots of supplies, materials, tools, trinkets, etc, and resellers by the boatload...

The downside? The Bay Area Knife Collectors Association (BAKCA) show in San Jose is August 16th-17th, is similar in size, caters more to us collectors of older knives like Randall's, Busse's, Mad Dog's, Gerber's, and Al Mar's...and is IMNSHO, a much lower profile/relaxed, and friendly show.

If I was making a recommendation, it would be BAKCA over Blade West, hands down, every time.

(Besides, after BAKCA, I may not have any money left for Blade West...lol)

See ya there, at both that is... ;)
