blade width?

Does anyone have info on what the blade width should be for an LB7 or LB8? It appears the LB7 blades are wider but I don't know if some of these knives were hand ground in later years. Thanks for the help.
 
have not really measured them precisely, but at a glance the blades appear to be the same dimensionally. the LB8 started out life as LB7 with staglon handles and i am not sure i know Codger is for the special set of Southern States. I have a LB7 with the staglon handle and the blade is the same size as my other LB8's.
 
Dale Vincent has had these apart for repair and even reblading, I think. He could tell us more definately, but the blades were, as far as I know, the same for LB-7 and LB-8. A change was made at some point in the locking bar which affects the rear portion of the blade keeping some of those later blades from interchanging with the newest, but as far as actual blade dimensions, I don't think they changed. And yes, the earlier ones were less consistantly ground by hand while the later ones used more automation, IIRC. Still, they had to fit gauges.
