Blade wiggle, should you worry?

I very much agree with this. Naturally after use or wear but when new...it doesn't bode well for the future

I notice that there is wiggle side to side,

do you think wiggle is somthing to worry about from a safety perspective.

My griptilian has an annoying amount of blade play. I tighten it up and it loosens very quickly. I just put some teflon tape on the pivot, seems to be fine so far... If not then LocTite it is... I really dont worry about the blade play much, its more of an annoyance than anything.

Two minigrips here and both have play. No biggie. I tried all I could on one of them to tweak it out and finally decided it was very minor, and matter absolutely 0 in the grand scheme of cutting stuff. It's rock solid otherwise, so what difference does it make? None. I accept it that way, and have it where I can have the fastest opening with the least amount of play.

Ideally I could have fast opening with no play, but you can't expect those tolerences out of a $60 folder.

Even with the most expensive fine custom and high end manufactured folders, you can get play because of wear, over time. If you don't want even a slight amount of play, my advice is buy a fixed blade.

The only high-end folder I've had play issues with was an
Al-Mar 2000 SRE. I sent it back to the factory for repair
got it back seemingly fixed but the problem returned in a
couple of weeks. I sold it to a co-worker who fancied
himself to be a knife maker but had no luck in solving the
problem. My other Al-Mar knives are bullet-proof.
