Hey guys!

My Buck Strider has developed some up and down/side to side play, not much, just enough to make me feel "wtf!?!?".
I tried to tighten the pivot screw but it just keeps turning, and nothing happens

Any experience with this? any help appreciated

I've had four of 'em and every one has had QC/liner lock problems. The good news is Joe Houser at Buck will take good care of you. Buck customer service is second to none.

Mine had that too. It seems there is a very fine line between too loose and too tight in how to adjust the pivot screw.

My Buck Strider Spearpoint was not right when I got it, and I believe the cause was the knife structure not being "square". The tubular spacers were each off by a couple hundredths of an inch, creating visibly non-parallel slabs. This caused the blade to have wobble in it which was caused by the phosphor-bronze washers not having a completely flat load bearing surface. I sent mine back to Joe Houser @ Buck and it came back PERFECT, rock-solid lockup with ZERO wobble. Feels like a one piece knife. There apparently is a tolerence for the spacers, which were in tolerance, but at different ends of the tolerance range. Perhaps the fix at the factory is to make all the little spacers +/- .001 inches intstead of +/- .02 inches or whatever it was...Seems like the wobble was a pretty common happening from the feedback here.

Hope this helps,
Steve

Wow, Tom! Great mod! I fixed all my wobblies with your method and there's not a hint of play in any of them now! Going to put 'em up for sale now on ebay as "With Tom Mayo mods"!
