I am just wondering if the Blade show will have as good of a selection of Busses as Knob Creek did?

This will be my first Blade show and I dont know what to expect as far as the amount of knives that will be there. I know there were probably close to 400 Busses at KC and was curious if they will have close to as many at Blade09.

TIA for any info.

Maybe 200 knives at the Creek,, it just looks like so many when you get excited

The only thing that could be better about blade, will be seeing all my Hog Brothers in Person,,

Or if they sell retro sets of SH knives for 1998 prices,, in weird thicknesses, or......

Lee,

I've been to both shows, and generally speaking --- yes, there will be as many and probably more knives at Blade.

HOWEVER, there will be 5-10 times as many Hogs in Atlanta, so it will seem like fewer knives...

Truth be told, there will be plenty of INFI and even more fun with the Hog family reunion. If you could only do one show, you chose wisely to go to Atlanta IMHO.

Blade is a must do, not just for Busse, but the entire knife world will be there.
Best knife show on the planet..hands down.

Blade will have more knives than Knob, and SE's have been available the last two years. You won't see the remakes of the older stuff there though, such as ABA's, SJ(SH), MS's, etc... only at Knob does Busse bring that stuff.

You don't want to miss Blade if you love knives. Best show of any type, anywhere.

Where else can you walk less than 100 yards and talk knives with Jerry and Dan Busse,Sal Glesser, and Tony Bose?:D

Busse table is always my first favorite. Second is walking around and browsing all the private dealer tables for a chance to find a blade or two I love which are no longer sold. it's awesome after ten tables to find gold like a discontinued 90's Benchmade folder or vintage Busse.

I have not been to Knob but from the pictures, and comparing Knob to Blade, Blade has a lot of custom knives and few CG remakes. The nice thing about Knob is picking up older series knives in CG finish and you won't find much of that at all at Blade if it is similar to 2008.

I would expect a 2009 Special Edition series and some special "new" releases like last year's Sarsquatch, Jackhammer and HR in Competition Finish.

Last year's spring KC show at the hotel was great, as there were lots of knives and not much competition at the Trough.:D

But for the Bussekin Community, it is Blade all the way, without a doubt. Killer knives (not just Busse, as noted above), cigars and Scotch all night with the Boss, maybe a Snoopy dance by Amy at 3:00am, and the Induction Dinner to cap it all off.

Maybe Bravado will even come, and shake hands with the new HOGS.

For me, Knob Creek is a no-brainer, being only about 30 miles from home. I've thought about attending Blade, but can't justify the travel/lodging/food expenses since I'll always attend KC. Blade still provides some opportunities when overextended Hogs sell off some of their old steel at reasonable prices on the Exchange, or I've been fortunate enough to acquire a proxy in the past when I wanted something really bad.

Nothing more to say.

Yes ... about 200 knives at the KC.

KC and Blade are both excellent, albeit for different reasons.

Knob Creek for me as I live only 15 miles away. :)
Plus, I love guns with a passion.
Especially handguns which NC carries in abundance.

I've been to both once and I thought Knob Creek was better. The knives are on the table and you get to look at them and pick them up and handle them. At Blade 08' Jerry would show a knife every hour then throw out the little tickets for them, if you get a ticket, you got the knife. I was fortunate enough to get a jack hammer, but didn't see a couple of knives that I wanted while I was there.
