BladeAuction?

Just a Question, Not Good, Bad or Ugly, but I would like to know what is going on. I was listed yesterday morning as posting a winning bid on 2 of 5 of the Spyderco Credit Card type folders. This was listed on the page with the items. This question is really about anyone with experience with the "automated software" from this site.

I have not received the auto notification, not able to find my purchase in the "Winners" list.

I followed this up with e-mail to BladeAuction and a telephone call to seller. No answer to e-mail sent to BladeAuction with inquiry (still early), tried contacting seller via telephone, left a voice mail message of inquiry. Seller's web site lists hime gone to the Bladeshow, be back June 5.

I know this is a bad time, "everyone" connected with this (seller & BladeAuction staff) is gone to the bladeshow but does anyone know what is going on. With the automated notification and the auto posting as a winner, I thought that this process was, "automated". I would like to pay for my items and have them sent to me. This was not a large purchase, but I hoped the first of many. I have bids on several other items that have not ended yet. I have purchased on E-Bay and I know that their automation kicks in and handles the entire process.

Is the auto notification software down? Is there someting I've done wrong?

Again, not complaining but would like to complete my obligation of purchase and receive my items or at least notification from someone "automated" or not.

I haven't bought/bid on anything recently but have made quite a few purchases awhile back. In each of those I received, within an hour in each of the cases I watched closely, one automated email from BA indicating my high bid and the name of seller as well as instructions to contact seller and a disclaimer about the auction...... Then within a day or so I got an email from the seller that I don't believe was automated but could be wrong. Sorry I couldn't be of more help and I hope you get it all figured out.

BTW, you were interested in the sword/cane.? I have asked a custom maker about them describing one with not only a sword but a short blade inside the handle of the sword.... Clockwise turn you get sword, CC turn you get short blade. He is drawing some stuff up and will get back to me later about it.

Apparently, the problem isn't with Bladeauction, but rather, with Bladeforums Auction.

I just checked the item number and the seller number, and both weren't listed under Bladeauction. I think you got confused there for a moment, lol..

Thanks Danny for your help and concern.

Since this address comes from a hot link at the BladeForums site, I did not realize they were not one and the same. I have bought many items from the other site and transactions there were flawless. Oh well, it's probably a software failure.

I have tried 2 e-mails, 1 Voice Mail and 2 unanswered telephone calls and then a series of posts here. It must be one heck of a Knife Show, maybe I should have gone.

Hi Sarge, I was one of the winning bidders also. Something I thought was a little strange was the automatic extension kicking in---something that was supposed to happen in case of huge amount of bids. Best as I could tell there were atotal of NINE. Anyway, I bid on two as I think you did also and just got a confirmation that I had a winning bid on a knife, not two. Just sent an email for clarification. Have you been contacted at all?

Hey Sarge, I just got my confirmation from Danny for two knives. I'm sure the delay was due to the Blade Show, he answered my email within 20 minutes. Hope you heard by now.

Danny works for Blade Auction, I bid at BladeForums Auction which are different businesses, which I did not know until Danny tried to help me. I have heard nothing from BladeForums Auction after 3 e-mails and 3 long distance telephone calls at my expense. I have been trying since Friday.

I finally was able to contact the seller today and send my money.

Ok, just got back in town yesterday, and back in the office this morning...

We were indeed out of town from the 1st until yesterday. Sorry, but we did make a post about it in the General forum and there have been a number of others regarding it.

Our server somehow went down on Sunday night / Monday morning, I'm not sure why at this time.

Past that, I'd need to know more specifics as to what exactly happened. What was the item number you bid on?
