I'd have to go with Bruce Bump as my number one . Even though I am not a stag scale affectionado. This BB knife is an amazing stunner! I love the sculpted guard. The details are plentiful and stellar. The knife is embellished mercilessly, just about every square centimeter, and it's still not over bearing or gaudy, at least to my eye. I could definitely live with this knife.... Cal

Well, it is pretty easy for me. I own the Bruce Bump and it is my choice.

I'm also glad that the photo helps people to determine it as their choice also. Glad my skills are there to show the knife in its best light. Actually, when I first was shown the knife by Roger I was determined that if it became available, I'd like the opportunity to own it and thanks to my friend Roger, it is now part of my collection and is part of what I have posted previously in a thread called the Three Amigos.

I have always wanted to add a Bruce Bump to my collection and am thrilled to own this knife. Roger also gave me the opportunity to own a fine Jerry Fisk Bowie which was not of 2010 vintage however and it along with my favorite Bowie/Fighter + Sheath combo by Tommy Gann makes up the Three Amigos which will occupy a place of honor as long as I can have a knife collection.

A great showing of knives and it is a thrill to have one of the knives considered by this illustrious group of collectors as part of the best 5 produced and shown in BF by so many fine knife makers.

Thanks so much to Roger and Lorien for providing this venue for all of us to show and enjoy the types of knives we all love to own and discuss.

I said it when first posted some time ago and nothing has changed my mind since:

If I could afford to buy any knife in the world, it would be the Sfreddo Moghul Fighter. The handle carving by itself, the damascus by itself, the integral bolster work by itself would each merit consideration, but all together in a beautiful flowing style is just overwhelming. My favorite of all time.

They are all over the top. My sincerest admiration to all the makers. For me it was Bruce first, Rodrigo then Fisk. I would be proud to own any of them.

I am going to have to sleep on this one. A very difficult choice to be sure.

I agree all are winners.
But the execution of such complex details pushed Rodrigo Sfreddo Moghul Fighter over the top followed closely by Bruce Bump Justice Bowie.

What a pleasure to see so many great knives

John

I gotta vote for "Rodrigo Sfreddo Moghul Fighter", everything just flows perfect.

All 5 are exceptional knives, and congrats to the maker's for making the finals!
For me, the decision was'nt that tough. I cast my vote for Dave Lisch.Dave has come from being an almost unknown maker a couple of years ago to being one of the most talented knife/steel makers in the business, and I'm proud to call him a friend!
Just as Roger noted, three of the finalists are well known Mastersmiths, and the knives spectacular and ornate. The other 2 are JS, and while the knives are not really ornate, they have clean, crisp lines and with very nice materials and super clean execution!Bravo and congrats to you both Dave and Nick:thumbup::thumbup:!

Great looking knives!

Sfreddo is the most sculpted of all. I dont like the overall black of it- too little color contrast. But spectacular!

Bruce Bump's is beautiful, but you have to ask is it a significant (enough) achievement over his winning knife last year ? for me , not enough! ;)

Nick Wheeler knife is a visually stunning, masterpiece of form. And i like that he earned a spot not using damascus! What careful, beautiful work. Does the picture show the true handle color, or is it darker, and not as red?

I like the Jerry Fisk best, though it is a tough choice. Here's why, and it is sublte and obvious. "Theme" is carried throughout. The damascus compliments the natural streaks in the handle to perfection, and it has a stunning presentation. Not to mention "artifact" story.. Just beautiful in total.

Dave Lisch's knife isnt my personal favorite of those selected. I love what he is doing with handles and guards. Excellent stuff!!

love em all, and if I were to chose the one I'd most like to own I'd have to say Nick Wheeler made it.

This is a most interesting race...the Bump had an early lead, then the Moghul fighter tied at 28, now leads by 1:D

Still lots of time.....

just gotta say, huge props to the humble blacksmith!:thumbup::thumbup:

I am casting my vote for Nick Wheeler. Hoping he'll get back in there!
Go doggy.

I'm in the "sleep on it" camp. I'm still trying to decide my criterion for choosing. They are all so strong but in different ways and each deserves a vote but for a different reason.

In terms of personal significance both for me and perhaps for the makers, I think it's between Nick and Dave.

If anyone of you ask me to pick just one and he'll get it made for me on his account, I wouldn't hesitate to pick "Rodrigo Sfreddo Moghul Fighter" for me :D
