It was a majority vote (over 40%) for Knife G in the last round:

As promised here is the opportunity to select a preferred handle material. Final stage will be Blade steel (I'm assuming Stainless guard unless anyone screams otherwise).

Have a look, have a vote, have a say!

The stag in the pics looks like a great fit to me. Do you have many stag handled knives?

Stephen,

How are you going to get that stag carver off of Roger P's Andrews Bowie? ;)

Actually that was one I found on ebay;) ......... don't know what all the fuss is about, quick search on Google images for a large file and there you are :D :D :D :D

Seriously, we should add a caveat that if a Stag carver is the preferred choice then time, money, and availability must be considered!

Cheers,

I feel like bucking the trend and I like how it looks in the mock-up so I'm gonna say SHEEPHORN!

One of each. :)
Have a feeling this is gonna' be a stag carver but I voted for presentation wood.
DI,Walnut,Curly Maple.
Blackwood is a good choice as well.

Seriously though,one of each. :D
Edited to add. Will the sheephorn, blackwood and presentation wood be getting a lined thonghole? :foot:

I was wondering the same thing. If another such spectacular piece can easilybe sourced, stag would be the easy call no-brainer. Since I kinda doubt that, I'm voting presentation wood.

That blackwood is talkin' to me....

Stag.

The blackwood looks nice too.....heck,who am I kidding, they all look nice. :D

I think the use of a wood handle gives the knife a look of history.
I think wood is more fitting into the full Bowie context.

The use of Stag gives the knife a "Old Western" look of Mt men and or the rendesvous.
Both work well on this style of blade.
The rest of the handles on your list all seem a bit too modern for me.
They make the blade look new, Butthe thing is I want the blade to look over 100 years old, just well cared for.

I am a big fan of ivory, but I think I agree with Allan. This one needs wood. A great stick of wood...with a Farr finish. :)
