I have some comments...

1) the stag option would blow away the handle shape option, but there's no other way if that's the material of choice I believe;

2) the ivory drawing has a very plain look, and that would be very different from a good mastodon ivory... so I guess the image kind of infunces the voting. Not impling that it was done that way on purpose;

3) the blackwood would have been my choice if there was some kind of escutcheon. I can't remember if that possibility have been discussed before.

I think Im one of the few people that think stag is a poor choice for a knife thats going to be used to any degree....depends on the stag, i guess....

My vote is for presentation wood.

I agree....we went through all of this hard work to decide on the knife's design and now ya want to change the handle shape by using stag.....I demand a recount!!!!! lol ;)

Looking at the blade profile and the guard, the name Adam DesRosiers keeps pooping up in my mind.

Some good voting going on.

If we take this forward to be made it is likely that a maker (or group of makers) will come up with some subtle changes that really take the knife on to a different level, both from a use and aesthetic point of view. The drawing and choices become a concept and then the real artists take over and make it happen.

Just wanted to mention it, so we all understand that what comes back will not be exactly the drawing as laid out.

Hopefully have a proposal on this front in the next week or so.

Cheers,

Stephen
