My wife, being the wonderful lady that she is, asked me what I wanted for christmas. Being the bladeforums supporter that I am, I said a krill lamp and a fine dimond sharpener from bladeforums. Well my wife ordered a green 360 krill lamp and a fine diamond sharpener a week and a half in advance for christmas. A day later she realized that the krill lamp that she had ordered she no longer wanted, so she e-mailed the store and canceled that part of her order.
A week and a half after christmas her order arrived, with the canceled krill lamp and the sharpener. But here is the kicker, the krill lamp wasn't even the correct color that she had ordered, and the correct color was listed on the reciept sent with the order. On top of the krill lamp being wrong the sharpener was sent with the incorrect grit (coarse). (santa's elves must have had a bit too much Jack Daniels)
Obviously some mistake had been made, so my wife called customer service and was told that she could not get a refund, but could get a store credit.
Now don't get me wrong a store credit is fine when the fault lies with the customer, however whe the fault lies with the store, (even the color on the envoice was different from the one sent) a refund I believe is in order.
Little to say you have made an upset customer out of my wife (BF was already in the hole with the ammount of time I spend reading posts here). I however am not too upset as now I have a store credit.
The reason for me posting this post in the general discussion is two fold because I want to know what fourmites feel about when a store should give credit and when it should give your money back.
And secondly, any good suggestions with what to use my store credit approx 50$, want a BF.com knife but don't feel like popping in the extra cash only to possibly get a pink one.
Any other suggestions??
How about BF offering some cheaper close out knives.
