With the host of threads started here lately in the GBU regarding shady deals, people, listings, etc... I thought it would be appropriate take a step back and say Thank You to the Moderators of this forum. As we see, feel, and experience these issues, they hit an ethical, emotional, and holy crap button in most of us. I am sure the mods have a lot of the same feelings about these issues as we all do. The difference is, they gather the facts, withhold their personal comments, and show a level head when dealing with each and every one of them in order to have the best outcome to each situation.

Because of the people who donate their time to us, people like RevDevil and Esav Benyamin, we are able to keep civility and ultimately keep the Exchange. In one of the latest threads I had to tell myself several times that the level headed ones (the Mods) have this under control and will deal with this appropriately when it is appropriate. What we witnessed from the Mods in that difficult situation, was perfectly appropriate. I do not know their ultimate intent in the situation, but I fully believe that it was to not allow this guy to scam anyone ever again on this site and to make the victims as 'whole' as they could with the tools that they have. One of the first things they did was to ensure that there would be no dealings going on with the bad actor while he had outstanding deals and victims. Also, the patience that was shown by the Mods and by Spark ultimately did get the outcome for the victims to be better than I felt was even possible.

To those of you who help to expose the bad actors and reject them publicly (while keeping the drama down), I believe you deserve a Thank You as well. By getting all of the story out, it helps to show what those people are all about. It helps to show what the community feels is a decent way to handle yourself here. It helps all of us who may have potential future dealings with these people. After all, this isn't eBay.

To you Mods, I say Bravo! Thank you! If I can send you some Tylenol, let me know. I am sure that you get a headache from time to time.

I agree 100% with your praise (well deserved),for the Mods here. Some times this place is like an adult Romper Room (older folks know what I'm talking about). Kudos to the Mods here for the hard work that they perform here.

These

:thumbup: for our wonderful Moderator's, & the thankless/challenging job they have, in keeping the civility on BF.

Okay, you guys, stop kissing up. Cannot stand all this groveling...
But yeah, they do a great job.
(Now, dammit, Esav and Charlie, don't ban me.)

I've argued extensively with a few of the mods and we've had strong, though I think unheated, differences of opinion. All of them stayed completely civil, I never felt like I was in any danger of infraction for arguing with them and they all kept it strictly knife related. For me, that's a top sign of good moderation and I came out of every one of those exchanges with more respect for the mod I was dealing with and, frankly, liking them more.

Yep. We are lucky to have a great bunch of Mods here. It makes me shake my head when someone starts bitching that the Mods are unfair.

If a person is bitching, you can bet that they already refused to take friendly advice, or change their ways. I have yet to see one that is unfair.

Yes sir, we have a good bunch of mods here. And Rev even has that cool Enlightenment Mode he can turn on and off :)
