BladeForums Native: You gonna use it?

I won't buy a knife if I'm not going to use it.
The "nicer" knives do merit a little consideration however.
If I have some nasty cutting to do (wet cardboard boxes etc.)
I'll switch to my 15 year old Opinel or preferably, borrow someone else's knife

Of course I will use it! Cuddling and fondling a knife is one thing, but these Spydercos are MADE to be used!! Anyway, how can I brag with the newest addition to my Spyderco collection if I don't carry and USE it?

In anticipation....

Depending on availability, not to mention my finances when they are ready, I may buy a second to "put away". Otherwise, I'm planning on using the one I've reserved.

So it really is a ploy! Your choices just became a bit more limited.

I won't buy or keep a knife that I won't or can't use. Of course, I'll use it.

If it looks, feels, and cuts as well as we all expect, how could we not use them? Are we knife knuts or what? If we didn't use them, how could we love the way they work?

you bet! I carry a knife all the time, I use what ever I happen to be carrying.

Please use it. At least some. Spyderco knives are made to be used. Always have been. Otherwise, why use the "great steels"? Why make the strong locks?

I will probably not use mine, I think it and the 1958 Ruana i am about to buy will usher in my collection days, as opposed to my accumulation up 'til now.

Besides, I have my bran' spankin' new standard Native to use and abuse in True Forum Fashion.

One may want to keep an Eye out for my review of the Bob Kasper designed, Kevin Gentile modified AFCK and interview of Bob Kasper. Sorry about the wait, my review and interview should be online shortly, look for it right here at BladeForums.com. The delay has been getting pictures, luckily Spark has graciously offered to do the pictures. Knife writer I may be, photographer I am not, yet.

Marion David Poff fka Eye, one can msg me at mdpoff@hotmail.com

Sal,

Of course we'll all have to use it! However, that doesn't mean we can't put a backup into our collection (which might never be needed/used)!

If anyone buys just one of these and doesn't use it within the first month or so, I'd like to see them post here!

A seond one would also make a great gift for our knife nut friends/relatives (for using of course).
