There is a special forum here at bf.c for just such questions. It's in the Exchange section and entitled The Good, Bad, and Ugly forum.

I will leave this thread here for a day or so for balisong-specific comments and then move it to GBU for general comments. But, in the mean time, you may wish to search the GBU forum for comments on Bladeplay.

In general, I think you will find that there is a history of problems with Bladeplay.

I like bladeplay for cheap balis, though their benchmades are a little on the expensive side. If you are planning to get the M Tech bali, its a good flipper but will fall appart, though thats nothing that a little superflue cant fix. Its a pretty good knife for the money, and incredibly sharp right out of the box (compared to most cheapies.)

I'm not sure if Bladeplay is associated with BladeHQ. I had great experiences with
BladeHQ as I ordered two knives from them and they have thrown in a few freebies.

When I order, I get a confirmation from Bladeplay, that's why I'm confused.

Perhaps check out BladeHQ.com

Got my Kimura from bladehq. They ship fast. I also own the M Tech twist it is a very good knife for being so cheap. I've only had it for maybe four months and seems to be holding up. The blade is very sharp. If you don't have the money for a Kimura or benchmade it is a good place to start, but you will probably end up with a Kimura or bencnchmade later on.

Bladeplay.com and bladehq.com both have the same adress

Blade HQ
628 E. State St. # 4
Lehi, UT 84043

Blade play is moe cheap knives
& Blade HQ is more name brand knives

bladeplay and bladehq are sister companies. they operate out of the same building. some of what you find on bladeplay you will also be able to find on the bladehq website. I buy knives from bladehq on a monthly basis and I have never had anything even remotely close to a problem with them. You can find benchmade balis for a few dollars cheaper on other sites but they will never charge your credit card for knives they don't have in stock like some of the other sites do (be careful). what they say they have in stock, they have. Bladeplay, I'm sure, operates the same way but remember what your buying. If you order junk, you will receive junk. You can't blame the online store when your 20 dollar balisong falls apart after 2 days.

bladehq/bladeplay also has a retail store that i consider to be one of best places in utah but, i am forbidden by my wife to go there due the excessive amount of money i part with there.

Well, you've got my opinion. Besides selling knockoffs, they can't even spell the man's name right.:thumbdn:

Whether or not you agree with what we sell, we try to take care of our customers. I would be curious to see some links to our "history or problems." It's something I'm definitely not aware of.

bladeplay and bladehq are sister companies.

That is correct. We operate both companies. We get people hooked on the cheap stuff (Bladeplay) and then migrate them over to the real deal (BladeHQ).

Designed by Darrell Ralph. Stolen and poorly reproduced without permission by MTech.

As far as we know these are authorized productions from M-tech. If they are not legit we'd be very interested to know.

Well, you've got my opinion. Besides selling knockoffs, they can't even spell the man's name right.

Darrel's name only has one "l" (Feel free to check his WEBSITE).

I haven't had too many dealings with them but they seem pretty good. I've had a couple purchases that got to me quickly and without problems.

I deleted this post. I had a question about membership status and it was answered by 2bothers (thanks!).

You would be hard pressed to find any negative threads here, or anywhere else posted about BladePlay or BladeHQ. They are one of the best for auto knives imo.

Hi folks -

Interesting, I too was unable to find any problems with this vendor, and then just to make sure I went to resellerratings.com and they show up as perfect, with no bad customer input from 11 reviews.

Keep in mind that people will rush to give a site a bad review if they think they have not been treated well.

I also found that bladehq.com is the cheapest place to get a mini griptilian, they are selling them new for what people on ebay want for a used one.

In addition, shipping was as cheap or cheaper than most, at $5.99 for ups ground.

I have two coming, one for my son's birthday and the other for my son-in-law.

I ordered and immediately received a shipping invoice via email and on the web site.

best regards -

Never had an issue with them, nor has anyone that I know of. I just placed another order with them.

I've ordered from them a couple of times never a problem. Would actually say they went the extra mile for me.
