The Metropolitan Museum of Art now has a huge collection of their things , including beautiful swords and knives , available on the internet !!!

The Met was a second home for me as a kid .Dragged along by parents in my youngest years with the wonderful Arms and Armor collection as bait .Of course I ended up with a good knowledge of art in general !

This is a world class museum is well worth seeing even by the internet and downloadable . A real WOW ! experience .

Wow is right. Thanks

I ended up putting that database in my favorites. You can spend hours looking at the swords alone.

I took you too literally before I read the thread so I took these. Quick pocket dump, I’m off today at home so the Holdout is there along with the FrankenUrban.

The Chef was grumping around here for a week or so shaking her head and glaring at it but a couple days ago she wanted to show it to me and seemed quite pleased so as far as I can surmise it is done. Thick oil paint; going to be “wet” for months. She’s a Pro . . . has her own downtown studio and everything. I can’t do it but I enjoy living around some one who can.

I can draw a ’65 Ford Mustang fastback with all the mods that looks like the real thing but that only rates a descending "YEEEeeeessssWell" as if I have done something I shouldn’t have on the carpet. (she can draw realism like an angel as well) Apparently there is a whole other world out there I can’t even glimpse but at least I get to see travel pics.

Just the painting :

PS: thanks for the headsup.

Did any of you see the "marijuana tsuba?" LOL I went through the first few hundred listings. They have a TON of Japanese sword fittings and big collections Indo-Persian/Islamic blades and European pole arms. One that got my attention was a Yatagan from the court of Suleyman the Magnificent.

brancron,

Nice collection ! Thanks !
The Mobangi throwing knife looks like it could come in handy during Christmas Mall Shopping sales. Those things are getting pretty aggressive. Too much for my delicate constitution, of course, but useful for those who enjoy being in the fray as it were.
