Still no word from the original interested party. I have sent him a final message stating that if I don't receive word by 4/28/10 that I will be moving to the next folks who have expressed interest.
So, if wednesday rolls around and no word, here's how it's going to work. I have this thread as a visual history of folks who have stated they are interested. I have one of the two bearings where I have begun to cut the roller cage with a cut-off wheel in order to get the rollers out. I will finish the cuts to the cage and remove the rollers from the first bearing, which will yield rollers, and both races intact. The cage will get tossed unless someone really wants it too.
Bearing #2 is going to get torched. The cut-off wheel method of seperating rollers from races is a pain, since my air-compressor is dead I have to rely on my electric drill with the wheel chucked up. I can get the races cut with only minor damage to a couple rollers, leaving me with 2 halves of the outer race, rollers, and a complete inner race.
Going by next-in-line per this thread, I will begin to contact those who stated interest, providing the next person does not want everything (rollers, races). The complete outer race from bearing #1 will not fit a USPS flat-rate box, and I will need to locate packaging to accomodate size & weight. Bearing #2 once I am able to get it cut apart will still be somewhat large as far as the outer race is concerned.
This is not a 100% freebie. Shipping is completely on next-in-line who wants it. I also would still ask for fair compensation by means of a blade or a discount towards the purchase of one. I realize I could have made quite a few dollars by selling the components, but that was not the original deal, so I won't alter that aspect.
To other interested parties, I have about a dozen rollers in various sizes from other bearings, no guarantee they are 52100, but I will post pictures soon.
